I've psyched myself up all week to start my injections today, done loads of research, watched YouTube tutorials, mentally prepared myself, and prepped my partner to help me. But AF has not shown up, I was put on the pill as part of the process and I'm meant to have a bleed before I start injecting. Nothing has happened and I'm just so frustrated. I don't even think it's going to show up.. anyone been in a similar situation?

Hi our first cycle was similar. Ended up going for first scan and found a cyst. They checked my bloods and because my hormones weren't right couldn't start that cycle. I went on pill for couple of month and went back for scan to make sure cyst had gone. Try ringing your clinic, I don't think you can start without a period although they said sometimes the lining doesn't thicken that much and if that's the case you may be able to start

Thank you for your reply, it's really appreciated. SmileI informed the clinic and they've said to keep them updated over the weekend as to if I've come on, but I just don't feel like I'm going to. They also found a cyst on my last scan but said it was nothing to be concerned about as it wasn't in a location which could affect ivf treatment / getting pregnant. I'm just so sad and frustrated that I'm going to have to wait even longer to start treatment - feels like torture and there's nothing I can do!

I know it's so frustrating after building yourself up to go through the whole process. So hard not being in control of anything. There are so many things about IVF that no one tells you about. Hope your period comes over weekend and you get to start

Thank you! I hope your journey is going / went better! Have you already been through some cycles?

We've had one cycle, unfortunately wasn't successful. Only had 3 eggs, 1 was empty. The other 2 did fertilise and we got 1 day 5 blast but didn't implant. We are starting again at the end of February, hoping for a better result this time 🙏

Aww that's so frustrating SadWishing you the very best of luck for your next cycle Thanks

Aww that's so frustrating. Do you have any updates?

Ahh thanks for asking Smile yes I had to go back to the doctors, they did a scan and said all was fine but I was too far along in my cycle to start the treatment so I need to wait about another two / three weeks (until my next period) before I can start! They told me I didn't need to take the pill again this time. I missed the window to start because I think my body reacted weirdly to the pill and I never had a bleed.

I guess looking on the positive side it means we have one last try naturally before we finally start treatment (but it's frustrating as I feel like more time is going by without any progression, I know I'm not the only one in this position so feeling very grateful I am least getting further down the line for treatment versus others who have longer waiting times to start treatment)
