Low number of ivf follicles...anyone had success?

I'm currently on day 13 of stims and my last scan showed I only have 3 lead follicles from a possible 10. They have asked me to carry on stimming. Has anyone had success with such a low number of follicles? So disappointed! I feel like I'm pumping myself with so much drugs and its amounting to nothing!

Yes, me! Just completed first cycle. Amh and follicle count was fine but I did not respond well to the protocol (no rhyme or reason to it but at least they know more about my body's reactions now and can plan another protocol for next time)

8 eggs retrieved but only 3 mature and only one fertilised!! I felt that all hope was totally lost but it went on to develop beautifully into a 4aa blastocyst. Just thought I'd share in case that gives you hope! Best of luck to you with it all

Me too ! 3 follicles and one of those contained the egg that made my newborn 🌈 it is true, it only takes one, don’t give up and best of luck

I have low amh and only had 2 dominant follicles on scans. Ended up with 7 eggs and 3 fertilised. All 3 made it to day 5, 1x5aa, 2x 3aa. I got pregnant twice from fresh and FET and have one on ice. I don't have a happy ending but I have a complex recurrent miscarriage history. But wanted to share that there is definitely hope with only a few follicles / eggs. Good luck xx

Thanks for the positivity. Just had my scan and they think it will be hard to get to one of the ovaries. So I could only have 1 egg. Just feel like giving up! Egg collection on Friday but they more or less said not to expect too much!

I'm so sorry. Its really stressful. On one of the days on which I had a scan and update like that I came home and cried and cried, gave myself a migraine in doing so and then was so nauseous for days. It is so massively taxing, the whole thing.

Your body and mind will be tired now and having gone though it really recently I can tell you that these of some of the toughest days you are enduring right now, but you can do this. If I have any advice it would be that after egg collection have your partner (if applicable) to take the calls from the embryologist, also maybe try to limit the news you receive that day. In our case I knew the total number of eggs leaving hospital but not how many were mature. I was only home an hour when they called and told me that my lovely haul had now effectively been dismished by over 50%. Next time I'll make it clear I don't want that news and will wait for their call the next day to let me know how many have fertilised as that's what really matters.

Sending you lots of strength and luck. That one egg may just be a golden one x

Quality over quantity! My patient coordinator keeps telling me this. Keeping everything crossed for you x

Thanks @Eggbert83 well I had 2 eggs retrieved and both fertilised and one made it to 5 day blastocyst. I had my transfer yesterday. I had cramping tomorrow but no symptoms today. Feeling like it might not have worked. When did you all test and what were your symptoms?

2 eggs, 2 fertilised, 1 5 day blastocyst. I had my transfer yesterday but no symptoms today. Worried it might not have stuck. When did you test and what were your symptoms?

Ah I'm delighted for you! Wonderful outcome! I actually couldn't do a transfer as my hormone levels had shot off so was recommended to freeze. Given we were doing so we've elected to have our little embie pga-t tested and we'll be going for another round regardless of the result (as hoping to batch for the future) next month! Dreading doing it again but hey ho (definitely long protocol for me this time!) There's another group with people doing FET/IVF in 2022 and lots have recently had transfer if you want to pop your question on that? Sorry, I'm a mumsnet newbie so unsure how to post a link xx
