ABC IVF - IVF following c section

Hi everyone
Just wondering if anyone has had IVF following a c section. How long did you have to wait?

I'm 38 and was hoping to use another embryo as soon as possible (two frozen). I had my little girl, my little IVF miracle January 3rd and following a traumatic labour ended up with an emergency c section. Was hoping to start ivf again as soon as allowed, but the c section will now probably push this date further away 😢 So I was just wondering if there was anyone else in same boat and what was the earliest they were allowed to have the ivf. Being 38 (39 in August) I'd like it done as soon as possible xxx

I was with their sister clinic create - I was told 12-18 months - if I wanted it to be 12 months I'd need a doctor to certify my c section scar had healed appropriately

You also have to have stopped breastfeeding

@bonetiredwithtwins thank you for your reply. Did you do this? I'm not breastfeeding but that's helpful information (especially for others who may have these questions too). I can't imagine many doctors being willing to sign at 12 months with the worry of them putting themselves at risk if something did go wrong 😕 x

I'm only 12 months post having twins and I had a detached placenta so I'm waiting the full 18 months but it will probably end up being 2 years to be honest

@bonetiredwithtwins congratulations with your twins ❤ i bet you've had the best year with them.

Just in case anybody has come here to see my result. ABC allowed us to have all the appointments at the end of December 22 and started treatment in the January 23. Our first child was born by c section in the January of 22, so they allowed the preparation appointments before the year was up, but the actual treatment started after the year of the c section (we transfered a frozen embryo from our first cycle). Our second child was born in November 23 :) So that's two positive transfers for us with abc Cardiff/Bristol x

Congratulations & thank you for updating.

I conceived my first child naturally but hoping to start treatment with ABC soon as he’s not far off 1 now and his dad left us so this thread inspires me!
