Hi. Does anyone know if an AFC of 13 is ok? I had 5 on one ovary and 8 on the other aged 35. TIA

Pretty sure that is what mine was at 35. It is something that fluctuates from month to month - they actually ended up collecting 20 eggs from my ivf cycle which was a big surprise.

@Betsyboo87 thanks for replying. That’s great! Have you had your transfer yet? Was egg reserve the reason for your IVF? We are 10 months into trying for our third so hoping it’ll happen naturally but trying to understand the results of various tests as we don’t see the consultant til April

Yes I did have the transfer and he’s now 18mo .

We were unexplained, my amh was on the low side of normal (9.2) and I think they would have liked an afc of around 15 but they said neither would be the reason for our problems.

@Betsyboo87 ah congrats! Will you have to go through the same process if you decide to try for another?

Yes I’ve read lots online about AMH (which I haven’t had tested yet) and AFC but how they don’t predict chances of natural conception. I’m just really hoping it happens, we’ve got two already and didn’t have any problems. My FSH is also on the high side of normal as well at 9.6 but basically the nurse we saw said that neither my FSH or AFC were a problem x

We are very fortunate to have 3 blasts in the freezer from that cycle which we may use in the future. If they don’t work then we have already decided that we wouldn’t do another egg collection. We’re really content with what we have. I know it’s very different for everyone though.

@Betsyboo87 thank you. It’s so hard. It’s like a mystery how sometimes and for some people it can be so straightforward and other times and for other people not!
