How accurate is clear blue advanced?

So confused right now.

I am using clear blue advanced and a smily face came up the day before yesterday so I assumed I should be ovulating. However after sex last night I have been bleeding and cramping like a mild period.

We have been trying for baby number two for over two years now.

I have pcos so it's hard to know when I am due on but if I am ovulating how can I be on my period?

Any ideas?

I think that ovulation tests aren't accurate or helpful if you have pcos. I don't use clear blue but I know sometimes you can have an lh surge before your period.
What cycle day are you?
Have you ever tried measuring your temperature?

Usage of such kits is not recommended if you have PCOS. This is because the kit measures levels of LH; as these are often elevated to begin with in PCOS patients the kit merely reads that and misleads the user.

It is quite possible also to have periods without ovulating; with PCOS this is far more likely to be happening.

Temp charting is problematic as well with PCOS and at two years plus of ttc you are well beyond doing that in any event. Do finances allow you to see a gynae as a couple for an initial consultation?.

Thanks for your reply's. Gutted about the LH serge tbh. I'm on my period so that must have been what it was. Today I called my GP to refer us. We don't really have the funds but will have some discussions about next steps and will go from there.

I am sorry... Do you know if you're entitled to NHS support for fertility?

Thanks Isabel. I don’t think so because we have one child. We will work some things out. Trying hard to focus on what we have. Just struggling lately with it all.

@user1478640515 My Clearblue results have always been all over the place. I would recommend you try OvuSense instead. I’ve always found it much more reliable and helped me understand which cycles I ovulated and which I didn’t. Good luck x

That’s helpful. I am nearly out of the clear blue so I’ll give these a go. Thanks. You too if you are still trying.
