There is no information. What are your experiences?

When having a scan to confirm I was mc for a second time- endometritis was mentioned as a possibility! I genuinely believe I had this due to having chlamydia for a while.

I never had any tests to confirm if I had it or not, but was given 2 weeks of doxycycline. This was only 2 months ago, I'm not pregnant again yet.

Hoping this was the reason for my mc's and it's now been resolved Smile

I just got diagnosed with this and have a course of antibiotics and then a course of vaginal prebiotics. Have you had treatment?

Bluemeadowbaby · 29/01/2022 17:10

Hey @Saraah30 I didn't want to read and run. I have severe endometriosis and sadly lost my tubes due to hydrosalpinx so ivf was the only way forward for me. We were told we more or less had no chance as DH morphology was very low too however I'm pleased to share after 2 rounds I now have my beautiful 22 month old little boy. Don't give up hope x

@jess8282 sorry for your losses. I am about to start taking doxycycline after two mc and wondered how this has panned out for you? Thanks

ChickenT2b · 18/08/2022 10:32

Hi @Katie567 where did you receive treatment? I am abojt to take doxycycline but also interested in the probiotics as I am susceptible to BV. Thanks

Katie567 · 18/08/2022 13:01

Hello, to update you from this. The month after taking my antibiotics/ probiotics I got pregnant and so far a healthy pregnancy (26 weeks). This is after 2 MC and then no pregnancies for 18 months. I had my ce diagnosed by the evewell in London's via the Emma/ Alice test. However I think my treatment is standard across the board. I am also prone to bv. As well as the antibiotics I would propose you do the following:

  1. Take at least 1 course of canesflor vaginal pessaries - this replaces the god bacteria. You can get it from Amazon and it's a pack of 10, one pessary a night for a week and then once a week for a month.

  2. use another vaginal pessary called balance activ bv pessaries. This improves the pH balance and helps the good bacteria thrive. I also managed to do a few of these before my pregnancy. Good luck!

MyEasterEggs · 18/08/2022 20:59

Thanks for sharing @Katie567. I had suspected BV so followed this treatment before Emma/Alice and tested negative. I’m having my first FET at The Evewell next cycle so may repeat these steps for peace of mind. Wishing you a happy and healthy rest of pregnancy 💛

ChickenT2b · 18/08/2022 23:21

@Katie567 thank you so much for the advice. Can I ask if I should take the activ bv ones after finishing the canesflor or was it an alternative option?
Congratulations on your pregnancy, it makes me feel so hopeful to read your story. Wishing you all the best x

Katie567 · 19/08/2022 05:54

Honestly I can't really remember, I think I mixed it up! Maybe a few days of canesflor to start then one night on the balance activ and then back to canesflor etc. I may even doubled up and did canesflor at night and then balance activ in the day. I prob only did around 4-5 balance activ pessaries Vs the 10+ canesflor (I started a second packet and got half way before my pregnancy). It's not medicine, these things can't cause any harm - canesflor is just lactobacillus (i.e. good bacteria) and balance activ is a gel that helps promote an acidic environment as this is what good bacteria like to grow in (and also protects from bv). One thing I would say is please don't use balance activ during the days you're 'trying' as sperm doesn't like the acidic environment and may reduce your chances. So I think I avoided this one during ovulation.

I also took an oral probiotic called invivo femme v which has a particular type of lactobacillus which has been connected to healthy pregnancies ( lactobacillus crispatus). If you really want to go to town, you can use it as ab oral tablet but also as a pessary if you wish. I used 3 or 4 of those a pessaries
too, after my canesflor course, as well as taking them orally the whole month. Good luck! As well as having CE, my Emma test said I had 0% good bacteria (you need over 90% for a healthy pregnancy) so I really went OTT!!

Katie567 · 19/08/2022 05:55

Thanks so much, good luck with the fet!

MyEasterEggs · 19/08/2022 21:04

@Katie567 did you do another test to check good bacteria?

Katie567 · 20/08/2022 06:58

@MyEasterEggs I did the EMMA/ ALICE together. Alice tests for the presence of chronic endometritis (i.e the infection), Emma tests for the good bacteria. People usually get them together. I have heard you can also do less invasive vaginal swab tests to test for these things too, but I haven't done that myself.

MyEasterEggs · 20/08/2022 19:44

Sorry @Katie567 I meant did you repeat after finding/treating the 0% good bacteria? I did the EndomeTRIO last cycle and a high vaginal swab with ecologix earlier this year so was just curious. I’ve followed most of the same suggestions you’ve made but will definitely repeat the vaginal pessaries, which arrived today!

Katie567 · 20/08/2022 20:58

@MyEasterEggs oh sorry no I didnt. I was debating it but I got pregnant the next cycle. Also I was seeing a lady who specialises in this stuff and she didn't like any additional procedures that could introduce new bacteria in once you've had the antibiotic treatment. She said if I really wanted to she would advise the vaginal swab only rather than something more invasive.

MyEasterEggs · 21/08/2022 10:46

That makes sense @Katie567 my good bacteria came back at 96% - was quite shocked and expected lower - but then I followed BV protocol prior to the EndomeTRIO because BV showed up my partner’s semen culture. My ecologix didn’t find it but there were some abnormal markers. I think we’ve been passing it back and forth for years and often wonder if it’s been at the root of our losses. I guess we’ll never know for sure though as I have raised immunes among other things! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and thanks again for sharing ☺️

Hhdxx · 22/08/2022 10:31

Hello everyone!
I have been diagnosed with chronic endometrisis. I've looked into the ALICE test but can't find anywhere in the UK that does it? I wondered if you could let me know where you found a clinic that offered it?
Thank you!

Katie567 · 22/08/2022 16:02

@Hhdxx just wondering, if you've already been diagnosed with CE, why do you need the Alice test?

I did the EMMA/ ALICE via the evewell but I've heard a few fertility clinics offer it.

Hhdxx · 22/08/2022 16:14

@Katie567 hey! Thanks for getting back to me. I wondered as I'm going to take antibiotics and wanted to check whether it's worked. Xx

Hhdxx · 05/09/2022 12:43

Has anybody got any recommendations for things to take?
I've ordered a few things that @Katie567 recommended! Thank you so much for sharing.
I have no idea how I've got CE. Is there anything my husband could be taking to help?
Thank you everyone xxx

Katie567 · 05/09/2022 14:02

If you want to be thorough, you can get your husband to so a semen culture to make sure he doesn't have it too. Otherwise you'll be passing it back and forth.

Hhdxx · 05/09/2022 16:12

@Katie567 Thank you for your reply. I'll have a look into that. Is that done with a semen analysis through the NHS? X

Katie567 · 05/09/2022 16:19

I did everything private as I had secondary infertility so they wouldn't cover anything on the NHS. I was already with a private clinic but you can use a company called fetility solutions for a semen culture I believe

Hhdxx · 07/09/2022 16:04

@Katie567 thank you! I will look into it.
Did you start TTC the month you'd taking doxy. X

Katie567 · 07/09/2022 16:18

Yes but I got pregnant the month after. I think I needed the probiotics too which I did after ovulation.

Babydustt12 · 07/10/2022 21:12

Hey sorry hope you don’t mind me jumping on and just wanted to ask did you get a repeat biopsy to see if your endometritis has cleared?
I had EMMA/ Alice and Alice came back normal no endometritis however Emma showed a pathogen and 0% good bacteria. Did a vaginal swab and showed good bacteria improved but the pathogen is still present.
and congratulations on your pregnancy 💕
