High AMH IVF - what trigger did you have?

Hi all, I'm starting IVF soon and today realised the trigger I have been prescribed isn't quite what I was expecting, I was too busy fretting about other things to think about it until I saw it in my house. Can I ask what trigger you were given with high AMH and did you have OHSS? I've been given Ovitrelle.

I'm quite nervous about OHSS and the young doctor I saw didn't make me feel very confident, she rushed through my file, glossed over my high AMH (31) and AFC (38) and focussed purely on my age (38) before recommending maximum doses of meds. I protested because I'd had private consultations and they had said I needed lower doses than that (as well as a non-HCG trigger), but didn't think to discuss the trigger because it was all such a whirlwind.

I'm fretting about the trigger and OHSS, possibly too much, but it would be useful to hear if others had ovitrelle with high AMH and were ok and I'm worrying unnecessarily.

Hi @thislittlebird
Yes! Our straggler caught up and we had a surprise one they hadn't told me about so we've got 8 on ice all together, 5 top quality so really pleased with those ☺️ Good news for you on AF. I can feel mine approaching and had a bit of discolouration today. It will be nice to feel like my body has reset itself a bit after all the stims. My call with the private patient's office was received well and I have a nurse consultation 7th March so not long to wait for that. I'm feeling well but still quite bloated and so have resigned myself to an April transfer being best all round for extra recovery/settling down time anyway. Fingers crossed your next AF comes on time and time goes quickly for us both 🤞🏼

Hi @thislittlebird
Just checking in 👋🏼 How are you getting on? Have you had your transfer now? I'm booked in for 14th so praying all goes well defrosting little embaby on the day 🙏🏼

@Jazper hey, that’s good news. Less good news here, unfortunately. My body isn’t playing ball so I’m not in a great place at present. It’s cd18 and I’m showing no signs of ovulation and by the time I do ovulate they said there might not be enough time for the embryo so they’d have to cancel and try again next month. I could cry my eyes out tbh. Nothing ever seems to go to plan and everything takes so long for us.

@Jazper how did you get on? I eventually got to do my transfer reeaaally late (21/4) because I was doing a natural cycle to avoid taking oestrogen. It went well, was very quick and I was just relieved to get to do it at the time, more nervous now as time goes on.
