Thought I'd start a thread for those starting rounds in the next few months.

I'm 36. TTC for 6 years. This will be my 4th transfer. It's a double embryo FET in Cyprus.

Welcome welcome 😁

@hopeaheadca @HJen22 thank you so much! Such a relief!! I just got meds for FET but will be doing a dummy run next cycle with biopsies of my womb rather than transfer. So by the time results come through and everything it will likely be around May or June I'm guessing!
So excited about Paris, I've never been and will be something good to take minds off the fertility journey!

@AliceAbsolum do you mean put 3 embryos back in? What do you mean the clinic do 3 as standard?

Bonster37 · 07/02/2022 19:43

Sorry to jump in but that’s what I did except with day 3 embryos. After a few failed/cancelled cycles, we transferred 3 day 3 embryos and our daughter was born. Attempted it last June and had chemical. Just attempted it this cycle and got faint BFP yesterday. Yes there is a small chance of triplets but with day 3 embryos the chance is very small.

AliceAbsolum · 07/02/2022 20:32

Yes 3 embryos back in. Sounds like madness doesn't it?!
Literally just got to the point though when I'm fed up with it all. I've had 2 transfered twice before, 5 in all, 6 years ttc, nearly £30k. Just shove em in and be done with it Hmm

I think in a lot of clinics outside the UK they don't have much of a culture of single embryo transfer, if that makes any sense. The risks of multiples are seen to be worth taking

Congrats @Bonster37! Really hope you have a smooth 8 months Flowers How many did you have transferred this time?

@AliceAbsolum I had no idea they did that! Mine won't even put 2 in and definitely not once you have PGT-A...you have to sign something to say only 1 euploid embryo to be transferred! I think it's great that there is the option of more than one to be transferred for you. Are there criteria or they are just happy to put 3 back in?

HJen22 · 08/02/2022 08:36

@Coops0406 so great! How many do you have now waiting and ready? Paris will be amazing, I went as a child and again for a hen weekend and it was great, I'd love to go back!

@AliceAbsolum absolutely, why not! I can totally understand wanting to give that a try after all you have been through! How are you feeling? I really hope this is your time this round ❤️

@Bonster37 congratulations! Always so lovely hearing success stories!

How is everyone getting on? I'm still patiently waiting to start my norethisterone, this time next week! Xx

AliceAbsolum · 08/02/2022 09:26

@Coops0406 Crikey. I thought transferring 2 after 39 years old was evidence based. I'm such a massive cynic though, i think they do it to make more money on FETs.
But then my clinic put back 3 as standard because they get better pregnancy rates. I wonder about the live birth rates however :(

I'm such a downer with all of this! excuse my negativity ladies. We are all incredibly lucky to be living in this day and age where IVF exists.

Hello all, I hope you don't mind if I join you.

I have a FET scheduled for March 30 in the Czech Republic.

Donor cycle in 2018 gave us 6 high quality blasts. 1st transfer (fresh) resulted in our almost 3 year old son. FET #1 : BNF, FET #2 : March 2022.

IVFGotThis05 · 08/02/2022 15:54

Hi

Just a quick question for anyone with experience.. I'm hoping to start medicated FET this month but as I'm still awaiting for my cycle to show up I don't know the type of time scale I'm looking from period starting to transfer!? I have been told that I will be on progesterone and oestrogen. Has any got any real time scale of how long I will be on each medication before transfer ?

Thank you in advance :)

hopeaheadca · 08/02/2022 16:33

@IVFGotThis05 it likely depends on your clinic and their specific protocol. I know for mine, at the start of your period you take oral estrogen for 2 weeks, then 6 days of progesterone, and they do the FET on the last progesterone day. So about 3 weeks into your cycle. Hope that helps!

IVFGotThis05 · 08/02/2022 16:51

@hopeaheadca ahh thank you that does, I just wanted a rough idea really :)

hopeaheadca · 08/02/2022 17:07

@IVFGotThis05 No problem! Some folks also do the ERA test on a cycle first, which I believe is meant to tell you the "optimum" number of days on progesterone before transfer, so people who do that might be shorter or longer than the 6 days depending on the results of that.

TommieNC · 09/02/2022 09:50

I’m on day 15 of bleeding (much lighter now thank goodness) after starting bcp before my Zoladex injection on the 21st of Feb.

Anyone else bleeding this long on bcp?

HJen22 · 09/02/2022 10:28

@TommieNC @IVFGotThis05 welcome ❤️ and good luck for your cycles x

IVFGotThis05 · 09/02/2022 11:05

@HJen22 Thank you :) Day 40 and still waiting for aunt flo to turn up ! She's stressing me out Grin

HJen22 · 09/02/2022 11:36

@IVFGotThis05 typical the one time you want it to appear isn't it! I hope she makes an appearance asap and you can get started! Is this your first FET after a freeze all?

I'm getting impatient counting down the days til I start, I got the dates at the start of January and feels like it's dragging x

IVFGotThis05 · 09/02/2022 12:07

@HJen22 ahh I always think it's a good thing to get dates but it just makes the time seem to drag doesn't it !? What is it you are waiting to start, a FET ? This is my first FET after a failed fresh cycle! :)

I had a little thought this morning thinking ohhh this could make a December baby ! I didn't want a December baby ! Buuut I'm also not willing to wait either so I talked myself round, so long as I am lucky enough to get pregnant I will be happy with whenever they decide to pop along lol :)

TommieNC · 09/02/2022 12:13

@IVFGotThis05 It is so frustrating when our cycles have no rhyme or reason. I was taking progesterone to induce my current cycle and I randomly started bleeding while on it. Sometimes our bodies have a mind of their own.
I hope your cycle starts soon!!

IVFGotThis05 · 09/02/2022 12:28

@TommieNC I know ! Mine is so irregular I never know, so when I'm actually waiting for it to turn up it's very annoying ! I didn't realise they would give you something to get it going ! Thank you, the longest cycle I've had it 43 days so hopefully it turns up this week!

IVFGotThis05 · 09/02/2022 12:47

@TommieNC @HJen22 ... As if by magic, It's here!! I'm off to ring the clinic Woohoo! :)

HJen22 · 09/02/2022 12:53

Yay @IVFGotThis05 great news! Hope you can get started right away!

Yeah the last few weeks seem to have gone slow but work is busy so guess that's something. This is my first cycle and is planned fresh transfer! I'm sorry to hear your first didn't work 😔 have you got many in the freezer? I hope this is your time ❤️🤞🏻

Haha yeah I'll be happy with a baby born any month at all! I know what you mean though!

IVFGotThis05 · 09/02/2022 13:01

@HJen22 It's always good to have something to keep you busy I suppose! Ahh how exciting ! As silly as it sounds, I loved my first cycle! I just liked having to do the next step, felt like I was getting somewhere after ttc for so long! The only bit I really disliked is after transfer, I really felt down, I think it was purely because the science bit was over and it was all down to my body ! So surreal ! But I wish you all the success, I've heard so many positive stories on first time pregnancies !! So I'll keep everything crossed it happens for you ! Any questions just ask! :)

HJen22 · 09/02/2022 13:16

@IVFGotThis05 Yeah My colleague just finished for mat leave so I'm covering / helping her replacement so it's been mega busy on top of my own job!

Thank you 😊 I'm pretty apprehensive and have been really bad for worrying this whole time TTC. I have low AMH and AFC so it's hard not to think of worst case scenario but counselling has helped. Mentally I've struggled a lot, some days more than others but it's finally happening soon and yeah I think/hope I'll feel better actually "doing" something after all of the waiting! But yeah the TWW after transfer terrifies me! How long ago was your first cycle? X

Coops0406 · 09/02/2022 22:09

@Bonster37 congratulations! Great news! Fingers crossed for you for a successful one 🤞🏾

@HJen22 we have 3 euploids so we're happy 😊 just got to hope they work. I cannot wait for Paris! It will be such a nice breather away from it all, just the two of us! We've both never been too so it will be like a nice little Valentine's treat for us with the freedom to have a glass of 2 of vino before I get back on meds!

@AliceAbsolum wow! I think because my clinic seem to be quite set against it I've never questioned or pushed further. It's also weird that my clinic don't give the standard embryo gradings that most do!
You're right, we are so lucky that we can get science to intervene these days...it's just mind blowing how many people have to go through this!

@TommieNC fantastic news on your first fresh transfer! Good luck with your next FET, it will soon be here!

@IVFGotThis05 my protocol has come through as 12 days of oestrogen, then 6 of progesterone (but depends on scans & bloods while in oestrogen). I will be doing this on my next cycle at the beginning of March but will be having biopsies on my womb and ERA rather than a transfer.

Bonster37 · 09/02/2022 22:40

@Coops0406 I’m not sure I’m a success story yet. I have got a few very faint BFPs 8&9dp3dt and then two negative ones yesterday and haven’t tested since as I was so upset. Got some brown discharge today, tiny bit. Booked beta for Friday. Not feeling confident. Why can’t it be striaght forward?!

HJen22 · 10/02/2022 13:43

@Coops0406 three is great, super happy for you 💕 it will be so nice for you to get away and have a break before the testing starts. And very romantic at valentines! Is there lots of testing they need to do prior to transfer?

@IVFGotThis05 did you get an update from your clinic now that AF arrived?

I went to a healing yoga class on Tuesday. It's a different kind of yoga with body tapping and shaking, quite strange but also very relaxing! It helped being out the house for an hour. I meditate at home but there's always noise whether it's OH, cat, dog, work, doorbell 😂
