Thought I'd start a thread for those starting rounds in the next few months.

I'm 36. TTC for 6 years. This will be my 4th transfer. It's a double embryo FET in Cyprus.

Welcome welcome 😁

@Coops0406 the 0% gin had got me through the last 3 months. Big gin glass, some ice, fruit and nice tonic and I can def convince myself it’s real!!

Not sure what to expect at this stage to be honest. Spoke to nurse earlier and was feeling much better but as day has gone on, still getting a lot of tummy cramps and discomfort. Just taking it easy and making sure I keep drinking plenty!

Steph2345 · 25/03/2022 17:35

Hi, I’m back and I’ve slept all afternoon (didn’t sleep very much last night). I also had 8 eggs which I was really surprised about. I’m feeling crappy and uncomfortable at the moment so hopefully that will pass soon.

@PMAmostofthetime how are you feeling? Finger crossed for the call tomorrow

@LT103 that’s so good all 9 fertilised! I hope you have a really good number at your next call

LT103 · 25/03/2022 18:06

@Steph2345 Great news!!! Fingers crossed for you and @PMAmostofthetime for call tomorrow.

I was really sore all day yesterday and better today but still quite uncomfortable. Hoping by tomorrow it will be easing off!

LuckyNovember · 25/03/2022 20:34

Wow I'm really late finding this thread!! Sounds like there's A LOT of good stuff going on, congrats to all with good news!

I also had EC today, 9 eggs (brilliant - delighted), only 3 mature (gutted)... probably triggered a day too early but will discuss tomorrow with the embryologist... #itonlytakesone⭐️

... and ditto the Covid+IVF=10kg 🤦🏻‍♀️

If my poor little trio don't make it, I'm looking forward to a six week in the gym before we go again 😂

PMAmostofthetime · 25/03/2022 22:27

@Steph2345 amazing news let's hope we get good results tomorrow.

When I come around and ate my snack I actually thought- what was the fuss about but then I got home and slept for 4 hours and have needed paracetamol as im uncomfortable.

How are you feeling now?

@LuckyNovember welcome and great news on your egg collection today hoping all 3 turn into blasts- I've not had an updated other than collected.
One lady at my clinic today didn't get any mature so 3 is amazing and you seem positive and know the next steps.

@LT103 that's for the reminder to drink I got your notification just as I woke up and I hadn't drank anything for hours and probably wouldn't have kept my water uptake up of you had not prompted me. Thanks
I'm ok now took some paracetamol and had my pessary of course.

How are you feeling?

Thanks @HJen22 I appreciate it. It's really hard to lose yourself during this process and I think Covid exacerbates that as you have to restrict much more of your life than you normally would. Definitely take some time out and you know you have a few weeks off so enjoy it. My clinic said to me today (when I asked about what happens next If it doesn't work and Covid etc)
They said if it doesn't work go and enjoy yourself if you get Covid before your consultation we will video call you and if you get it- your then safer from it for 90 days. So enjoy the break- be safe but don't restrict yourself and get you back before starting again.

@Somatronic @Hopingforamiracle11 @BlueSilver23 @Coops0406 @LT103
Thank you, they woke me up in recovery and my first words were- was there any eggs?

How's everyone doing?

AliceAbsolum · 26/03/2022 05:31

@LT103 @Steph2345 @PMAmostofthetime
8 seems to be the magic number, fab news. Fingers crossed for frozen embabies 😁

@LuckyNovember Welcome! I had 4 mature and 2 made it to day 5 so you never know. It's such a trial and error process, which is rough when it's so draining and expensive.
Fingers crossed all fertilize tomorrow, take it easy.

I'm not workout over the weekend. ET is on Monday so I'm going to try and chill out. Weather has finally picked up, it's 19c and sunny today. Got to get my final frappes in before transfer. They're thick, freezing cold, rich, sugary and amazing 😍

AliceAbsolum · 26/03/2022 05:33

Lol that should have said working, I'm also not working out either. Stopped running and HIT last week and staying sane currently. Luckily I really like walking and yoga so that helps keep my head right too.

HJen22 · 26/03/2022 07:14

@Steph2345 well done on your 8 eggs collected too! Really pleased for you girls! Hope you're both feeling better today! I found I was fine the afternoon of EC but sorer the day after once the painkillers had worn off (did anyone else get a suppository afterwards or just me!?) so take it easy today too xx

Good luck for your calls today with fertilisation @PMAmostofthetime @Steph2345 I've everything crossed!

@LT103 how are you feeling today?

@LuckyNovember welcome! I really hope you're three fertilise, and you're right, it only takes one 💕 yeah Covid and IVF is a rough combo for the old waistline isn't it!!

@AliceAbsolum glad to hear the sun is shining and you're enjoying the weekend before ET! Are you feeling a little better? Oh yum those frappes sound amazing!

We're off to see my family today so looking forward to that! My little nephews always make me laugh!

Good luck to all of you ladies awaiting calls! I really hope for the best of news xx

LT103 · 26/03/2022 08:09

@HJen22 yeah I got a voltarol suppository at the same time as collection. I was the same really sore Thursday and yesterday but more a trapped wind type of pain. Hard to describe. Today, I feel almost normal and I can bend down again haha so def less bloated!

Enjoy your day! Sounds perfect!

Good luck for fertilisation calls!!! Hoping for great results!!

MollyVanDer · 26/03/2022 08:56

@Coops0406 I read you're having a womb biopsy, I'm thinking of asking for one as I'm having issues implanting. Do you know if it needs to be done at a certain point in the cycle? And whether it's done under sedation?

I'm also looking into getting the NK Cell test done. Have you done this?

PMAmostofthetime · 26/03/2022 11:05

@LT103 @Steph2345
How are you feeling?
I have some cramping and I took paracetamol when I did my pessary this morning but aside from when I sneezed it's not as sore as I expected to be.

I did however put apple juice on my cereal this morning, so I understand why I can't drive until tomorrow.

Wish this phone call would hurry up! What time are calls usually? Is there a set time?

@HJen22 I had a suppository too.

LT103 · 26/03/2022 11:25

@PMAmostofthetime I’m much better today now.
Did they give you a time. I got told it would be between 8 and 12

PMAmostofthetime · 26/03/2022 11:35

@LT103 just had the phone call 5 fertilised.

Hoping they make it further now.

Will call Monday to let me know Monday or Wednesday transfer and hopefully have some to freeze too.

Gross question sorry- progesterone pessaries-
How much is supposed to come back out?
Seems like a lot has this morning.

LT103 · 26/03/2022 11:51

@PMAmostofthetime that’s great. Lots of chances then!!!
I haven’t had the pessaries yet but from what I know from people that have that’s pretty normal!!! No idea how enough gets absorbed!

AliceAbsolum · 26/03/2022 11:52

@PMAmostofthetime 5 is good 👍👍
I find the casing can come out and it looks like a lot? Do you lie down after you put them in?

OP posts:
PMAmostofthetime · 26/03/2022 11:57

@AliceAbsolum @LT103

I'm pleased with 5- strangely sad about the other 3 though, and hoping at least 3 make it to blast!

Yes I led down after it, I'll keep an eye on the one tonight and ring the clinic if it seems too much x

Hopingforamiracle11 · 26/03/2022 12:04

@Coops0406 womb testing sounds like a good plan - I may consider it after nhs funded cycles. What probiotic do you use? - I may start using it too :)
In regards to PGS testing it is so expensive, but you’re definitely right that it’s worth doing - I feel like it can save a lot of heartache long-term. I can’t pay for those on nhs cycles, but once I’ll go private I think I’ll have it done for future embryos (though definitely outside of UK, as prices are just mind-blowing).
Thank you for your kind words x

@LT103 gin, even if alcohol-free sounds fab Grin

@Steph2345 well done x

@PMAmostofthetime that’s great news x In regards to pain following EC - I felt crampy for around 3 days, but with every day it was getting much better! Do you use applicators attached? Yeah, quite a lot of stuff comes out, but as long as you insert it far enough and you lie for 30 min afterwards it should be absorbing well! Initially I wasn’t sure if it was working or not, but after two days of taking them I noticed increased temperature in the morning :)

@AliceAbsolum that’s super exciting! Good luck on Monday x does it mean two are going to be transferred? Smile

AliceAbsolum · 26/03/2022 12:34

@Hopingforamiracle11 Yes, 2 being transferred. Both good quality 21 year old donor egg embryos - so chance of twins is high! But also very much prepared for a BFN or worse.

Hopingforamiracle11 · 26/03/2022 12:39

@AliceAbsolum that’s fab news! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you Lovely xx
How is your stay in Cyprus going? I’ve never been! I’m sure the weather is lovely Grin

AliceAbsolum · 26/03/2022 12:41

@Hopingforamiracle11 I got Canesflor from Boots and used that this cycle. As long as its got Lactobacillus in it then it follows the evidence base.

Thank-you! I'm nervous as it was hectic last time. She was pressing on my full bladder and telling me to relax for what felt like a looong time. In reality was probably 30 seconds.

OP posts:
PMAmostofthetime · 26/03/2022 13:38

@AliceAbsolum
So exciting that ET is Monday :) and that there is 2 going in.

How long will you stay in Cyprus post transfer?

Good luck Monday :)

Hopingforamiracle11 · 26/03/2022 13:39

@AliceAbsolum thanks for recommendation, I will order today!
That sounds less than comfortable but as you know what to expect I’m sure it’ll be less stressful x Having full bladder during ET is the worst thing ever - when I saw how big my bladder was during that procedure I though I would faint! One of my nurses said that as long as the bladder is half full it’s fine, so next time I may drink a little bit less instead of recommended 1L :)

Herewegoagain881 · 26/03/2022 13:54

Hi all, I hope it's ok to join so late through the thread, I haven't read through everything yet but I'll be sure to catch up at some point! I've just started my 2ww yesterday, the frozen transfer went as well as it probably could although I've been called in today to get some more progesterone as apparently my blood levels weren't as high as they like, even though Dr Google indicate that they actually seem more than fine!

A bit about me, I'm 40 and was TTC from 31 until 37 (we were trying on and off as I also was studying/changing career during some of those years) and we then had my DS at 38 through a successful IVF transfer/pregnancy, after a miscarriage a year before. Infertility had such a massive impact on my life and that has stayed with me even though we are beyond grateful to now have our little boy.

We had two genetically tested embryos left and transferred one yesterday. Keeping everything crossed that it sticks. Chances are lower than last time as I'm older, have a c section scar, a lower quality embryo, and a really heavy toddler, also my body isn't responding to medication as well as previously.

I haven't read the more recent posts to see if anyone has transferred yet, but if so and were on a medicated cycle do you know what your progesterone levels were during transfer?

Wishing everyone the best of luck with their cycles! X

AliceAbsolum · 26/03/2022 14:10

@Herewegoagain881 Welcome! Congrats on being PUPO. Infertility really takes it out of you doesn't it. DH and I had a 2.5 year break following our one and only bfp that ended in miscarriage.
It's great you know your embryo is genetically sound. Hope your 2ww goes quickly.

I'll have my progesterone tested on Monday for my transfer so hopefully they'll let me know. How much are you on? I'll be on 800mg via pesseries and 25mg injections.
