Thought I'd start a thread for those starting rounds in the next few months.

I'm 36. TTC for 6 years. This will be my 4th transfer. It's a double embryo FET in Cyprus.

Welcome welcome 😁

@PMAmostofthetime happy last day of norethisterone! I had similar symptoms with being tired and moody and emotional! Hopefully AF arrives soon, I took my last 3 pills the Thursday and AF came the Monday and started stims the Tuesday.

Sounds like you are doing your very best with avoiding Covid and that's all you can do ❤️ My parents are coming to my garden today for a visit so I'm so looking forward to seeing them as I haven't seen anyone other than my OH (and dog walkers haha) in 2 weeks.

LT103 · 05/03/2022 10:40

@PMAmostofthetime thank you. Yes it’s same here. 1 or 2 people know but it’s so hard giving so many excuses as to why people can’t come round or why we can’t go out. We’ve also not been drinking since new year so looking forward to a nice night out once it’s all finished. We’re doing freeze all so no transfer for a couple of months.

LT103 · 05/03/2022 10:42

@HJen22 oh thanks. I’ll have a look at that app!! I’m feeling ok so far. Day 4 of norethisterone and apart from almost crying when dinner stuck to the baking tray last night 🙈 I’ve been fine. Finish norethisterone on Wednesday so not too long to go! Good luck, hope stims are going well.

Pinklady81 · 05/03/2022 16:15

I'm starting stims tomorrow for first time any tips please I'm on a FET cycle and first scan is next Wednesday

AliceAbsolum · 05/03/2022 16:20

Good to read all your updates ladies.

I use the flow app but it's not really for IVF, I would just have no idea about why CD I'm on otherwise.

@hjen22 Glad you're doing well! You're bang on this Grin

I've got my day 21 lucrin injection tomorrow, I'm running 5 miles cross country in the morning, so I think I'll do it after that and then wind the mileage down.
Got our euros today, starting to pack. It's 18c in Cyprus so that's keeping me going.

@LT103 it was hard for me to tell if I was emotional because of norethisterone or if I was just being my usual, given I cry a lot anyway! Wednesday will be here before you know it! Do you have baseline scan then start stims or just straight onto stims when AF arrives?

@Pinklady81 good luck! The only thing I would say is if you've been told to pinch skin (I'm not sure if all meds do this but guessing so?!) make sure you do it hard enough as when I didn't it was harder for the needle to go in. I haven't used an ice pack but I did have in case. I then treat myself with some chocolate or something after 😂

@AliceAbsolum how are you? Are you still in the UK? Wow 5 miles! That's fab well done you! My little exercise is dog walking. What does the lucrin injection do? 18deg how lovely! It's a tropical 8deg here today but at least lovely and sunny ☀️ xxx

TheHopefulEgg · 05/03/2022 18:34

Thanks @HJen22. Hope you were okay with today’s injection!

@PMAmostofthetime good tips. I didn’t use ice when doing heparin injections during last pregnancy and can imagine it would have eased that stingy sensation.

Freya871 · 05/03/2022 19:11

Hi all,
Sorry if I’ve posted this in the wrong thread (please just let me know and I’ll delete).
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with my current situation- I don’t mind if it’s negative of positive, but I’ve been scrolling the internet for hours and can’t find anything similar.

I am 4dp5dt. Having ivf due to PCOS. I had a medicated frozen transfer and started spotting a day after the transfer. The clinic said this could just be from touching my cervix (I had a small cervical ectropion).
After two more days of spotting (light red), I woke up this morning to a bright red bleed (light but more than spotting).
The clinic have added lubion injections today to try and help but they really worried me as the nurse said I definitely shouldn’t be bleeding this early on.
I have done a FRER today and it was negative.
I can accept this cycle may have failed but now I’m panicking that there’s something really wrong.

Has anyone else experienced red bleeding this early on after transfer and then gone on to have a successful cycle on the next round?

Thanks
Freya

PMAmostofthetime · 05/03/2022 21:11

Hi all, last Northesteroine tablet taken!

How quickly have you all seen AF after last tab?

@Freya871 I have no experience sorry, just starting my first cycle, but I'm sure some of the other poster can help.
If you are really worried, reduce you anxiety and call NHS direct for further advice.

Bluehawaii29 · 05/03/2022 21:44

@Freya871 hiya I’m currently day 1 post transfer on my first FET. Can’t say I’ve had any bleeding around this stage so far but have experience of bleeding a few days before test date on my fresh cycle. Subsequently Lubion injection was added in to this cycle in addition to cyclogest pessaries twice a day. I’m also on oestrogen tablets 4 times a day. How about you? X

Freya871 · 05/03/2022 21:59

Thank you so much for replying.

Yes, I’m also on oestrogen but 3 x a day.

When is your test day? This is definitely the worst part of ivf for me…the waiting is torture!

Bluehawaii29 · 05/03/2022 22:17

@Freya871 yes it’s horrible isn’t it. Today was dragging so much and didn’t feel like a Saturday at all. Tried my best to take mins off things and play video games and not do much activity. Never really know what is the best thing to do but I definitely haven’t bed rested this time like I did in the first cycle. I don’t think that did me a lot of good last time tbh so was doing walking round the house mainly. How have you been keeping busy?

Freya871 · 05/03/2022 22:23

Very similar…I’ve stayed at home since Tuesday but haven’t done ‘bed rest’, just taken it easy!
This is my first transfer and I really wasn’t expecting the wait to be as hard as it is.
Are you tempted to test early?

LT103 · 05/03/2022 23:42

@HJen22 no baseline scan. Straight onto stims on 14th (so long as I’ve started bleeding by then) then scan and bloods on 21st

Bluehawaii29 · 06/03/2022 07:53

@Freya871 hey not tempted to test early yet. Learnt my lesson from the first cycle. The earliest I’d probably test is the 16th instead of 18th march only because that’s my day off and it should be showing something by then if it’s worked. How about you?

Jampot36 · 06/03/2022 08:53

Morning, hope everyone is doing ok.

So day 9 of buserelin, AF arrived friday so i felt very relieved...one less thing to worry about. Not doing too badly aside from feeling totally exhausted and ravenous - not sure if that's the treatment or period.

Going to have a very lazy day - food shop and meal prep for the week. Hoping i can get a few gym sessions in this week as that's what keeps me sane.

@Freya871
Does your clinic have someone on call? Ours does so might be worth calling to ask and maybe ease your mind? I'm only round 1 so no experience of this. Hope you're ok.

Somatronic · 06/03/2022 11:53

Hi All, hope it's OK if I join! I've been following the thread but only joining now as I got my protocol and dates last week so now it's actually happening!

I have an appointment on the 18th and should start norethisterone on the 21st.

We may do ICSI, not sure yet (SA were fine all along but morphology wasn't great on the last test). I'm 34 (will be 35 in a couple of weeks but still clinging to 34 for now!) and have been on various treatments for fertility for over the last 20 months - metformin, clomid, letrozole with follicular tracking etc.

Having short protocol IVF. Fresh transfer hopefully. I'm in Ireland where there is no public IVF or public funding so we're paying ourselves. I reckon we could afford 2 cycles at a stretch so whether it works out or not, either way this should be a relatively short process for us due to the cost.

I just want to say it's been an eye-opener reading the thread. So many strong women on here, and some of the journeys (sorry for using the j word) have been so long and difficult. Hopefully it will work out for us all in the end.

AliceAbsolum · 06/03/2022 17:10

@somatronic @Freya871 Welcome. It's lovely to have a thread to share experiences and support each other, as we can all understand what each other are going through. Especially when irl support can be a bit lacking.

@jampot36 Glad AF turned up :)

@bluehawaii29 I also wouldn't test too early having regretted it previously. I'll test in 9dp5dt this time as that's 14 dpo which is about 'right'. Always do like 2 wees a night though so have to hold it in all morning and test about 2pm 🙄

@hjen22 I'm alright. All packed and ready to go. Online checked in and Covid-19 paperwork all done. How're you doing?

I absolutely lost the plot doing the lucrin injection this afternoon. Couldn't understand the instructions, the solution kept dripping out, it wouldn't mix. Took 30 minutes. I ended up crying my eyes out and DH had to take over. Luckily he's super calm in stressful situations and in the end it all went in fine.
Super sore now, but it was subcutaneous or depo so pretty big needle!

Hey everyone!

I hope it's okay to join! After TTC naturally for 2 years and failing, I had my first ICSI cycle and fresh 5 day blast transfer 2 weeks ago today. I was feeling super positive about things up until I wobbled half way through the TWW and couldn't seem to bring myself back!
OTD was today. I held out testing until this morning and got a Big Fat Nahhhhhh, Not Today Love Sad everything seemed to go so smoothly through the whole process but wasn't meant to be for me.

I've spent the day feeling a whole load of emotions and absolutely devastated. I expect I'll feel quite stung for a while but keen to jump back into it asap and try again with one of my frosties. I'm 37 with unexplained issues.

Just thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and see how everyone's holding up. I hope the TWW's being kind to all of you going through it at the moment! Sending loads of positive vibes Smile

@PMAmostofthetime I had mine 3 days after the last tab! You won't have long to wait :)
AliceAbsolum · 06/03/2022 20:01

@kittyy85

Sorry to hear that, bfns are so horrible. All that hope gone. All you can do is be kind to yourself and look towards your fet. Not easy. When can you go for your frosties?

OP posts:
PMAmostofthetime · 06/03/2022 21:35

@Kittyyy85 The BFN are never nice but after going through treatment they must be more heartbreaking. I'm on my first cycle so trying to be realistic but it's so hard not to dream isn't it :(

Hope the hormones are not giving you too much of a run around.

Try and take some time for yourself and do something nice.

Are you going to try again?

Thanks for the answer in regards to Northesteroine.

PMAmostofthetime · 06/03/2022 23:04

@Somatronic welcome and good luck, this is my first cycle too, I'm NHS.

Wishing you lots of luck for it to work first time m and if not I hope you get lots of blasts so you can do some FET x

Kittyyy85 · 07/03/2022 06:40

Thanks @PMAmostofthetime @AliceAbsolum.

We're fortunate enough to have four more in the freezer so the plan is to do an FET as soon as they give us the green light (hopefully that means April, I think?) I think I need to bleed following this failed cycle which I'm waiting for and then I need another period next month and maybe then I can go ahead. Not sure, I need to call my clinic today to arrange a follow up.

How's your treatment going @AliceAbsolum? Are you coping okay with cycle?

@PMAmostofthetime have you started your breakthrough bleed yet? I remember how excited I was to get cracking last month when I'd come off Norethisterone
