IVF on HRT

Looking for advice here, as my GP is being pretty useless and unhelpful.
I am just past 40 and very sure I am peri-menopausal, so many of the expected symptoms although I still have regular periods. I think I want to start hormone replacement to help with anxiety, moods, tiredness, and general long-term benefit.
However...
This year I will be beginning IVF, using an egg donor (I've known for many years that I would need to use an egg donor and I'm happy with that choice).
Will being on HRT have any impact on the fertility treatment? Would it reduce the chances of success, or would it actually increase success because my hormones would be balanced? I honestly don't know and would appreciate any advice.

A hopeful bump.

Hi @perimenofertility It may depend on what type of transfer you’re having.
For example, when I had my medicated frozen transfer the oestrogen I was given was the same brand given to women for HRT, just at a higher dose.
So in theory it might be OK to be taking HRT prior to IVF or the clinic may just ask you to come off it before you start your cycle.

I’d definitely contact your clinic though and see what their recommendation is.

Good luck!

@RiverRiot Thank you, that's helpful. I don't know about transfer yet but good to know it's not incompatible.
(See if only my GP could have said something so simple and clear!)
