so i have been ttc for over 5 years i do not ovulate have tried clomid i have been referred to an ivf clinic next month, i am obese so i decided to have the gastric sleeve 6 weeks ago and i have lost weight my bmi i suspect by the time i actually start ivf in few months will be suitable but has anyone else had gastric sleeve and then had Ivf i know they suggest waiting a whole year will they enforce this? could i lie and say i had it longer ago would they know? i know it sounds bad but i am desperate for a baby. :(

I imagine they would make you wait as, due to huge eating changes, there could be risks to an unborn baby due to vitamin deficiencies causing neural tube defects.
It really is best to be very honest with them about your surgery dates.

It's best to be honest with your clinic, especially as they'll almost certainly find out surgery dates. The waiting is so hard, but does have good clinical reasoning for it post- gastric sleeve - it's important for you to have a stable balance of nutrients and it can take time for that to rebalance; also, some women find that the weight loss alone means they start ovulating after recovering, which can mean they need less invasive or even no medical interventions. If you tell your clinic the truth, they can help come up with the best plan for you. Good luck!
