Menopur Injections For Follicle simulation

Hi

Wondering if anyone has had any positive results using menopur injections? this isn't for ivf at this stage, just to stimulate follicle growth to get to 19-20mm and then an ovitrelle shot to trigger ovulation once the follicle size has been reached.

first round I started on 75ml injection for 10 days, then the trigger on the 10th day, after the scan showed a follicle at the right size for ovulation (unsuccessful cycle)

Second round 150ml injection for 7 days, the scan showed 2 large follicles then trigger shot on the 7th day (cycle unsuccessful)

Im now due to start again on day 2 of AF as i get 3 cycles of this on the NHS, I don't know the dosage as yet.

Feeling very disheartened at the minute and was wondering is there anyone else who has used this process and it has been successful? my next step after this is IVF, which at my age (38) has a lower success rate :-(

I know this post is quite old now but I wondered if you had any update?? I am just about to start Menopur 75 for follicle stimulation because Letrozole had no response at all. Be great to hear from you!

I didn't have any luck with Menopur injections for ovulation induction. My body was way too resistant so we went straight for IVF after 2 tries at Ovulation induction. I have just completed my first round of IVF and have just tested with my first ever BFP! Hoping for a smooth journey x

Im on day 4 of 75 Menapur after taking clomid days 5-9 with poor response. Egg was only measuring 10mm on CD10. Last scan was 12mm so dr prescribed another 3 days. Back on Thursday for another scan! Fingers crossed.

Hi @Harri1409 congratulations on you BFP, so exciting.
I did one round of menopur and it didn't work for me as didn't get anything going enough to ovulate.
I am now in the 2WW following an IVF FET cycle hopefully have some success now!
@NEMP I hope you have better luck than us with menopur, will certainly be less intrusive than ivf. X

original scan after clomid days 5-9 only showed a 10mm follicle so Dr said low dose Menapur should push things along. After 3 days of Menapur follicle only got up to 12mm so on another 3 days. Having quite a bit of discomfort and bloating but I’m back for a scan tomorrow. Hopefully things are working ☹️

@NEMP bloating is definitely a sign that things are going in the right direction!

@10degreessunny fingers crossed for you!! The wait is the hardest thing I've ever had to do!

@Ble I used Gonal-F in my first round of IVF and was successful.

Phew that’s good news! I rang me dr because I was in a lot of pain last night but he didn’t seem too concerned. Pain is really localised to the side the dominant follicle is on. If this eggy isn’t above 18mm tomorrow I don’t know what I’ll do 😂 this isn’t even the hardest part either! Got to get pregnant after this…blah

what’s the difference between gonal and Menapur if you don’t mind me asking?

@NEMP just different branded medicines but both aim to stimulate follicle growth. There will be more scientific differences as one might be more suitable to some ladies than others!
