Hope all are well. Can I ask some advice. 3 failed isci cycles, MFI, poor motility and morphology count normal but borderline. No issues found with me but a lot of my eggs haven't been suitable for icsi so their may be an issue with egg quality but no cause been found. We have only produced poor quality embryos. I am 30 with normal AMH for my age.

I am at a loss what to do next. DH took 6 months of supplements before cycle 3 with no improvement. Consultant had suggested we could try testosterone which I'm not keen with normal results, I'm strongly considering going abroad but I've taken so much time off for 2 IVF cycles and a diagnostic lap I don't see how I can do that anytime soon. DH thinks he consider trying another clinic elsewhere in the UK (we are Midlands based) but I don't know what more they would offer and I don't like the thought of doing all my tests again.
Either way I don't think we will do more than 4 cycles at this time, so this is our last shot.
Anyone been in a similar situation and what did you decide? I know all of us have different circumstances though.

Hi @Natw22
I just thought I would comment re your MFI. My DP had poor morph, motility and a normal but low side of normal count (15million per ml). We have had two successful ICSI cycles and are currently trying a third cycle ... due to our age (42) we are both taking a lot of supplements and surprisingly my DP's SA has massively improved! His count has gone up to 28million per ml, morphology in the normal range for the first time ever and motility well into the normal range! He has never had results like this. He takes Proceive for men, omega 3, alpha lipoic acid, coq10, NAC and L carnitine.
Oh and we also do our IVF in Prague due to cost.
Lots of luck

Sorry to jump on your thread, could you tell me what doses supplement your DH took @firefly37? We have had a failed ICSI cycle and clinic haven't been quick to recommend any supplements expect proceive max. Thanks

Could you look at being tested for sperm dna fragmentation?? I think clinics often overlook this as being an issue?

Natw22 · 04/01/2022 22:42

@firefly37 ah thanks for letting me know! Congratulations on your successful cycles and good luck for your third! @WhiskeyInTheJar33 I did ask about this but my consultant said regardless of the results icsi would be recommended so it would be a waste of money for us.

@try9ng ... he used mainly the "Doctors Best" brand and just took the recommended amount on the instructions. The only one we take extra of is CoQ10, usual daily is 300mg but we take 600mg.
Hope this helps
