Moving frozen embryos

I just wondered if anyone has experience of moving frozen embryos from one clinic to another? I've lost trust in my current clinic, but my remaining frozen embryos are with them (and I don't want to start from the beginning again!).

Hi, I haven’t actually ended up needing to move embryos but did look up the process when we were considering it. So the receiving embryology team needs to liase with your original team for a debrief on the embryo grades/ numbers etc.. There is usually an application/ consent form to sign both sides. The clinic I was considering had someone dedicated to embryo transport who I liased with. There was an admin fee for both exit of the embryos from original clinic and a separate one for receipt of new embryos as well as the courier costs. Was given the option of arranging a special courier (they were happy to recommend but not organise) or receiving clinic also could lend a special transportation box to move the embryos yourself which was much cheaper. Also need to pay for storage fees in the new clinic. There was a bit of paperwork and potentially quite a bit of cost but it didn’t sound too complicated if moving the embryos within the same country. I think it gets much more complex if attempting to move embryos between different countries. Best of luck. X
