Uterogestan suppositories- bleeding

Hi ,

I was looking for some advice, I can't seem to find much online. I am currently 5w+3 days pregnant with an ivf bubba. Since implantation, I've been spotting brown/pink cervical mucus. The consistency isn't quite like blood. My clinic believe it is due to the suppositories which may be irritating me inside but I can't help but feel nervous. It's not there each time I wipe but often when I pull the stick out (sorry tmi) or on my pantyliner. I was wondering if anyone else had some browny pink spotting while using the suppositories.

Crippling anxiety since finding out I'm pregnant- thanks to years of infertility! 🥺

X

@Prayingforabubba yes I had this with urogestan (everything turned out fine). The progesterone can make your cervix extra sensitive and then you can also knock it with the pessaries. I know how terrifying it is though x

I’ve had two bleeds while on Utrogestan and also suspect the tablets / stick as both times were after I’d taken them - reddy pink both times but subsided quickly, scan after first one was ok at 5+3 - epu saw me to rule out ectopic.

The other thing I’ve noticed is that the shell of the capsule tends to look browny pink when it dissolves - so could also be that if you say it doesn’t look quite like blood.

@MabelG did you have the spotting the whole time you were on the progesterone?

@Faerun I think it might be blood and not the dissolved progesterone. So hard to describe it 🥺 could they see much in your scan at 5w? I'm going to call my doctors tomorrow and see what they advise. X

@Prayingforabubba I had it on two occasions on my successful cycle. Are you on injectable progesterone as well?

Prayingforabubba · 28/12/2021 14:32

@MabelG no just the pessaries 😞
My implantation bleed was quite a bit so maybe it's leftover blood from that. I just hope it's nothing sinister.

@Prayingforabubba Just a sac and a yolk sac, so enough to see not ectopic but not much more.

Congratulations on your pregnancy. I had this pretty much everyday until it stopped suddenly at 8 weeks. It got a little heavier at some points but mainly brown/pink. It caused me huge amounts of anxiety but my clinic were never concerned. They said they don’t class it as normal but it’s not uncommon. After it stopped the rest of my pregnancy was problem free.
