What were your first steps? Not ovulating

I don’t ovulate every month (usually skips a month) and the dr has finally taken me seriously. He said I may struggle to fall pregnant due to lack of ovulation (my blood test and ultrasound are okay). We will discuss other things after another blood test. What were your first steps after blood tests and ultrasounds ruling out other conditions? I am only 25 and never thought I would struggle.

I would say at your age they'll likely discuss clomid or something first to induce ovulation rather than full blown IVF x

I had all the initial tests done as did my husband. I don't ovulate (progesterone score of 17mnol). I had a hycosy, then 6 months of clomid all monitored with follicule tracking. No luck with the clomid so we then had a medicated IUI and my DS was born in November 2020. Good luck on your journey OP. My heart goes out to you x

What do you mean by progesterone score? I’ve been tested for FSH, LH and androgen levels in my blood.

Progesterone score is your level at 7 days past ovulation and it needs to be above a certain level to show ovulation has taken place. It's one of the main and first things that's checked with investigatory bloods. I agree that it is likely you'll be given clomid or letrozole (ovulation induction) first provided your husband is checked and his semen analysis is satisfactory. Good luck 🤞🏻

@YouBoggleMyMind interesting. I haven’t been checked for this. I’m so glad that there’s some other methods to try before IVF. Thank you everyone! It’s so daunting.

@Greensmoothie1 I’m the same! I also domy ovulate! A few years older than you, but currently starting the process also ☺️

Yup. Just to reiterate all the above @Greensmoothie1. They will probably want you to have a hycosy to check tubes arent blocked prior to putting you on ovulation medication. Bad news is in many trusts this can only be done through fertility clinics, which a GP cannot refer you to until you have been trying a year.

In the meantime, make sure they do day 21 bloods that include progesterone. I'd also ask for an androgen profile.
