Doctor recommended blood tests for clotting

So I had one failed fet where I started bleeding before otd. Second cycle resulted in bfp but I had a mmc discovered at 8.5 weeks.
Had my follow up consultation today with the doctor and he's recommending I have blood tests to check for clotting issues and thyroid antibodies etc, his reasoning that because I have such good graded embryos (I had 9 embryos and 6 of those AA's) that they should've worked. These tests are Gona cost another £1k!! He said because I had the failed fet and then a miscarriage this could indicate an underlying issue. But maybe it's just bad luck??
Has anyone any experience of something like this ?

I had level 1 recurrent implantation failure blood tests after my 2nd unsuccessful transfer which sound like the same tests your specialist is discussing. This involves a full thrombophilia screen and autoantibodies screen. If the thrombophilia screen flagged anything up I was advised I'd take aspirin and heparin and if anything came up on the autoantibodies screen steroids. Some clinicians put people on these drugs without the tests.

In my case it didn't explain much, I had an abnormal PAI gene so I was put onto aspirin and heparin, however I was then told to stop the aspirin as thromboses don't cause implantation failure according to a specialist however heparin can help with implantation. I was found to have an abnormal MTHFR gene so take methylfolate now, which many people take routinely instead of folate as it's very common to have this abnormality. And everything was normal on the autoantibodies screen.

Is it possible the embryo was abnormal? Did you manage to have it tested during the miscarriage?

I tested for thromophilia years ago. I have PAI and MTHFR abnormalities and as I was put on folate and aspirin for both transfers. Aspirin and clexane are usually used in case of thrombophilia. One was a chemical, one was a BFN (untested embryos). I might switch from aspirin to clexane for the next transfer, but I am pretty sure that my implantation failure is related to my lining.
