Clomid

Have been prescribed Clomid, tempted to wait until after Christmas to start it as the side affects don't sound great. Any success stories and/or reassurance would be lovely... any multiple births?

Hi @MrsN85 I'm Currently on Clomid. I have just started my 4th cycle, so no success yes in that regard, but I am successfully ovulating at around CD15 now, and my progesterone levels have been nice and high in my LP. I wanted to reassure you that I have had no symptoms, either on the 50mg dose, or the 25mg dose that I am now on. Good luck to you x

@Kay00 thank you ❤️

Hi @MrsN85 - I had four cycles of Clomid, three on 50mg and one on 100mg. I had a few hot flashes at night time and some bizarre dreams, but that was about it. On the fourth cycle I did experience a bit of pain as I ovulated - but that cycle did result in my little girl so was worth it!
Best of luck x

@sittingwaitingwishing thank you. Think we're going to wait until after Christmas as looking at dates we won't be home when I take the tablets for first time and I don't want to ruin what's meant to be a nice time for myself. Xx

@MrsN85 I am also in the same situation, as I have been prescribed Clomid, but unsure to take these around Christmas time due to any potential side effects. I was prescribed 50mg for five days for three cycles.

MrsN85 · 20/12/2021 09:59

@Tinkerbell098 I've got 50mg too. Fingers. crossed once Xmas is over and Jan rolls around we have some good luck xx

@MrsN85 were you told if you would be monitored whilst on Clomid? I wasn't told anything, other than take it for three cycles.

Greensmoothie1 · 20/12/2021 11:18

I’m not ovulating every month so the gp has finally said he’s going to investigate! FSH is higher end of normal and LH seems to be at the lower end (follicular stage). More tests to be done. I’m in my mid 20s.

Is clomid the first step in helping you ovulate regularly? By 3 cycles do you mean 3 months?

MrsN85 · 20/12/2021 12:06

@Tinkerbell098 I was told the wanted me to book bloods for hormone levels on day 21. Guess that'll depend on lockdowns etc.

@Greensmoothie1 I had to have a lot of bloods to check health and an X-ray to make sure my tubes were clear, partner had to get checked as he has no children. He's fine.

I've got a ten year old and I'm 36, and they said my LH levels would suggest I'm not ovulating or not ovulating when I should be, probably stress induced as like everyone as last couple of years have been tough, so yes three months worth of clomid tablets to force an ovulation and see if that helps me get pregnant.

@MrsN85 thank you for replying! What were your LH levels if you don’t mind me asking?

MrsN85 · 20/12/2021 14:34

@Greensmoothie1 Wasn't given a figure as such, just told the levels would suggest I'm not ovulating or not ovulating when they would expect me to be.

@MrsN85 fair enough, I’m new to this! Best of luck to you!

MrsN85 · 20/12/2021 19:34

@Greensmoothie1 and to you. It's not much fun. Xx
