Ah, good luck! Make sure your DP has 2 very quiet weeks for recovery. Presumably the clinic will provide you with the medical scrotal support/jock strap but we found it useful to buy a couple more, so that he had wash and wear options at all times.

I’d also recommend him taking the painkillers for a week, even if he feels he doesn’t need them. My DP had a day of unnecessary pain, when he stopped the medication too early. We just wrote a medication routine, and stuck to it regardless for a week or 10 days.

Finally, be prepared for the the bruising! It’s almost unreal. We took lots of photos, and could really see there was vast improvement in stitches and bruising over the first week.

Also, book your semen analysis as soon as you can. We had quite a wait, and that was before Covid. Really hope it works out for you guys!

I've got a local clinic booked up for SA and some compression shorts ordered for him. He'll be on strict rest lol

Forgot to ask, does your surgeon check for sperm during the operation? Ours did, so that if there was no sperm present, he could change course and do a vas to epididymis join, rather than a standard vas to vas join.

I was in contact with 2 ladies on here who haven’t had success. Neither of their surgeons checked for sperm during the operation. Our surgeon pointed out that the test during surgery is vital, as there is no point joining 2 tubes together if there’s no sperm present anyway.

Just thought it was worth pointing out, in case you want to check with your surgeon what their usual practice is.

@Derbee yeah ours does a check for sperm and will do a vas to epi if needed. He went through all the options.

Out of interest, where did you have yours done?
