Need advice re Beta numbers :(

Hi all, I am completly devastated, after a day 5 FET with euploid embryo 10 days ago I just did my Beta test and the level is 21. It says that it is grey area and should be retested in 48 hours. I presume it is over for me on this round? Can anyone advise, does anyone have the same experience and then after had a successful outcome? Thanks

Hi, generally speaking, anything over 25 at that stage is considered positive and results in the range of 10-24 is 'borderline' and needs further tests to confirm either way. It's entirely possible that, if an embryo has taken a little longer to implant for example, a borderline initial result can still be a positive - just a couple of days behind what was initially expected. The waiting is horrible, but the repeat test should let you know one way or the other. Thinking of you.

I wouldn't say its over until you get the 2nd test result. I haven't gone through this myself so can't give you hope there but I have done a lot of google on HCG (still waiting for my first test tomorrow) and it appears that it increasing is more important than if it starts low. If its a slow implanter it might not have had the time to increase yet.

I know thats not the news you wanted to get today. Um I think it depends on what is better for you personally, some people would prefer to assume its bad news so they can process faster and then if it turns out to be good be happily surprised. And some prefer to hold onto hope until the last possible minute. Only you can decide what is best for you. I really hope you get a positive outcome!

Numbers can start crazy low. I had 17 once but can’t remember dpo. It’s more about the doubling. Keep testing every 48 hours and hopefully it begins to climb . Wishing you luck

Hi All, thanks so much for your feedback. @AMN3000 unfortunately when I checked again on Monday my Beta had dropped to 4 so it's a negative. I did have two positive tests over the weekend so I think it was a chemical. This is my third failed IVF we are devastated.

Very sorry to hear this @Parisinthesummer , will the clinic investigate any reasons for the chemicals?
