Just wanted to check in a few things, if you don't mind! Grateful for any responses!

I had an unsuccessful EC back in March but for some reason I can't recall a few things, and also I wondered if it might be different when it has been successful?

So I have DOR and was doing natural modified protocol (aiming to get 1 or 2 eggs - for freezing). I had 3 eggs, 2 were mature - EC on Fri morning. A tiny bit of spotting on the day and was quite achey in my ovaries and bloated/knackered but I would say I was mainly back to normal the next day except I feel like every time I eat I feel massively bloated. I think it's out of proportion to what I'm eating but I do often experience similar monthly bloating with my usual cycle..

I am also have twinges/very mild pain around my ovaries every now and then still. I am someone who always feels strong ovulation pains when I am ovulating and it is similar to this but not that bad. I do suffer (since Covid Hmm ) with health anxiety so I'm likely overthinking things! I also feel a little tight chested but only when I think about it and focus on it - when out and about or distracted/sleeping I haven't noticed it so suspect it's just part of my health anxiety rather than a real issue, but just wondering if anyone else feels similar and whether it is to do with when I'm eating and bloating it's affecting things?

I know the bloating etc could be mild OHSS which lots of people get, but I believe I'm very low risk as I have so few follicles (4 on this cycle)/eggs and I was on mild stims (150iu Gonal F). Is it common to have these symtoms anyway, I would be surprised if it's this? And is it normal to have these little pains/twinges in ovaries 3 days post EC - my info from clinic says 24-48 hours and now I'm past 72 hours?

TIA

Sorry, I should also add, I'm quite gassy still too Blush - I guess that goes hand in hand with the bloating though.. so perhaps that's the slight tight chest feeling occasionally too.. trapped gas kind of issue.. any tips to help with it all?

I had EC three days before you and I’m still getting a fair bit of pain and very bloated even a week later. And was still spotting quite a bit. However this improved a bit when my period turned up this weekend. But still very twingy in the ovaries and bloated. I was advised to take some lactulose (not the spasmodic type) and drink lots and just to rest. Think some people react badly while others sail through. Hope you feel better!

Also they said no spicy food!

Thanks for the reply. I guess if I usually get ovulation pain and bloating on a normal cycle then even the extra 2 eggs might have made a difference to intensity...and the extra hormones/medical procedure etc...

It's definitely improving though 🤞🏼

When did you/will you drink alcohol? I'm not doing another cycle until next year but wondering if a glass of wine would effect healing etc. Nurse wasn't very clear on this and said how I'm an adult and it's up to me but they'd recommend not to drink whilst on the antibiotics (given in case of infection). Finished them today so was pondering if I could have a drink tomorrow !

Should also point out I'm egg freezing and not trying to get pregnant any time soon

I had 19 eggs so mine is probably a touch of OHSS but think different people react very differently. Some sail though it. Ive been a bit of a wreck the whole way through stims as well! I’m also gearing up for another EC early next year.

As far as drinking, I don’t think there is any issue with it even with antibiotics. The no drinking rule is only for a very specific type of abx (metronidazole) which isn’t normally given for EC so I’d celebrate with a glass of wine tonight if it was me! Unlikely to have much effect on healing at this stage I wouldn’t think either.
