Hi all,
I'm on stims, day 4 today and we are going to the birthday party tonight. Usually I do injections at 8.30pm, today we will have to leave house at 7pm. Would it be OK to do injections earlier just before leaving? I can't reach my clinic to ask about it, would be greatful fir your help!

@sviri I did in fact ask my clinic about this once and was told categorically no. I think 15 mins or something won’t make much difference (I was once 30 mins late due to a needle mishap!) but hour and half might be pushing it. But then that might depend on your type of meds. I think it’s one thing you really need to double check with the clinic but in the absence of that I wouldn’t risk it myself. They seem very into taking it at the same time every day so I assume that must be for a very good reason!

@sviri I also asked my clinic and was told no. Was told a max of half hour either way but to ideally keep it around the same time every day. This has meant me taking it out and going to the car to inject myself!

If I was going to be out I just brought the injections with me.
Some of them could be made up in advance and I put them in a glasses case. Some had to be kept cold and I brought an ice pack in my bag.
I wouldn't shift the time by that much. I had an alarm set on my phone so I wouldn't forget.

My consultant didn’t care. The only medication he wanted me to time perfectly was progesterone.

Stims are cumulative so a very short delay shouldn’t matter. I managed to miss an entire dose (I don’t recommend!!) & the cycle still went well.

My clinic did no more than 30mins each way either. I went out for dinner one night and I did the injection in the toilets. I washed my hands and then used hand sanitiser. I had some individually wrapped alcohol wipes I used to clean the injection site. It does depend on your medication though. I was on Menopur which was fine to be out of the fridge once mixed.

Thank you very much for all replies! Just an update - my consultant finally came back to me and said that it is doesn't matter if I do injections earlier. So I did it at 7pm before leaving the house.

Thanks for letting us know OP. So it does depend on the meds each one takes because my consultant said that I shouldn't variate more than 10-15'.
