Ttc cycle 12

Hi all, really just looking for some advice; as the title states I am now into cycle 12 of ttc with no hint of a BFP. I have had my day 21 bloods taken and first sample was inconclusive and second suggested ovulation (I also got positives on the cb ovulation strips) but stopped using them as I felt their were adding to my anxiety. My question is how long after 12 months did you try and really push the GP along for further testing or go private. I know if needed I am not entitled to any IVF funding on the NHS but I believe I am entitled to some investigations. I don’t want to be overly pushy however I also feel useless and sinking into a deeper depression as every month passes xx

@Hopefullywaiting01234 hey ! I was trying for over a year before I went to my GP and don’t forget that you can always lie to the doctors and say you have been trying for 3 years ! That’s what I did and got all the investigations straight away ! You don’t have to wait and suffer in silence SmileFlowers

@ShareLove I think they would know as I came off medication to ttc and told them (obv not thinking I would be in this situation) so assume would be in my medical records 😤! Did you eventually get your BFP!? X

@Hopefullywaiting01234 awww nooo , sorry . In that situation , yes you can’t really lie because they will know . Sad

And I am doing ivf now , so I have my trasfer tomorrow to trasfer the embryo inside me .
When I saw my GP about not getting pregnant she referred me to ivf straight away .
Because I said I haven’t got pregnant for 3 years when really it was only 1 year 😀
It’s taken 1 year from referral to having my trasfer tomorrow so I will find out in 10 days if it’s worked or not 😍
I haven’t tried naturally for like 9 months out of 1 years because there was always some testing that needed to be done before ivf and ect so I didn’t worry about trying naturally because I knew I will have ivf anyways 😍

@Hopefullywaiting01234 do you know how long you have to be trying before they do more tests ? X

Oh dear, oh no, I am sorry you're feeling this way. So many of us are having trouble becoming parents and the worries and the stress can be so tiring at moments. I would definitely recommend some relaxing time and some meditation for IVF (they help you relax and stay calm and focused). Also, since you've been trying for a year already ask gp to investigate some more before you try and find a private clinic.

@ShareLove along with the day 21 bloods they done other basic ones like thyroid, And testing for anaemia etc all were normal. My husband has been for a SA so waiting the results of that. They told me to come back in a year so that’s February if nothing had happened. I am hopefully (covid dependant) going on holiday in feb so my plan was to phone after that.

I have been really stressed about the full thing so was wondering if that was playing a part but seems unlikely

@Hopefullywaiting01234 sorry you have to wait so long it’s terrible 😕

I know what I am about to say is very very annoying but I tried to get pregnant for 1 year and nothing happened and then it was Christmas holidays and I drank alcohol was so busy doing thing and did not think about if I am pregnant or not this month as all the other months it’s not worked and to my surprise I was pregnant that exact month where I didn’t even care or think about it because I knew it won’t happen like all the other months but I did try that month anyways just in case just before the holidays started . And then I left it at that . And was pregnant 2 weeks later but I lost it but that’s irrelevant but I do belive stress has a lot to do with not getting pregnant when one is obsessing over it , I know from personal experience ! Xxx

ShareLove · 23/11/2021 15:54

@Hopefullywaiting01234 how old are you may I ask xx if you’re youngish , doctors just fob you off I know form experience as they did the same to me when I was younger and went to GP about the same thing , they fobbed me off saying I’m still young and keep trying Angry

Hopefullywaiting01234 · 23/11/2021 15:55

@ShareLove 34 so not young!

@Hopefullywaiting01234 I’m

Hopefullywaiting01234 · 23/11/2021 17:01

@Hopefullywaiting01234 You should push them to have more investigations.

I am experiencing secondary unexplained infertility, but it took me a lot of time to have investigations because it was hard for me to actually face the fact. You sound ready, you've been trying for a year, start by having some more tests at least.

Good luck!

Hopefullywaiting01234 · 30/11/2021 22:21

@dutchessmom yeah my husband just got his SA back there which was fine so the GP said he was write to the gynaecologist for some further advice.

How long had you been trying for? Have they found anything.. only thing different is obv a few years older and definitely much more stressed/anxious this time. I have been like this since cycle 1 🙈

@Hopefullywaiting01234 The gp was right, you need more tests, by more specialties, gyno can help, or a fertility expert, or even a fertility endocrinologist... Take it a step at a time and you don't need to panic, just know that you do need them and you do deserve them.

We've been trying for 2-3 years (sometimes I don't count the 1st year as we were not actively pursuing it -taking temps, ovulation sticks, acupuncture, diet and everything else).

It's normal to feel this way you know. When we started trying I was thinking "I've been here before, I know how to do it, I am a veteran, next month I will be pregnant". Well, obv things don't work this way, but not to worry, we will find a way! 💪

Are you trying any special salads, smoothies or diet to increase the levels of the vitamins you need?

Hopefullywaiting01234 · 30/11/2021 22:49

@dutchessmom no I haven’t really changed my diet or anything as I thought we could be doing this a while and don’t want to not enjoy my life at the same time cutting out food I enjoy. I am not overweight or anything though my BMI is healthy. I have been taking vitamins (folic acid, vit D and b6)

I probably could drink more water and cut out the caffeine right enough
