When did you stop cyclogest

Good morning ladies

When did you stop taking cyclogest? I was advised by IVF clinic to stop at 12 weeks but had some extra suppositories so stopped when week 13 started.
Must say I’m really anxious now that I’ve stopped
If my body will produce enough progesterone

I stopped about 14 week but did get told 12, I too had left overs so used them, I was scared of stopping but you will be fine, body takes over at 12 weekish so no need for them
Good luck

I stopped at 14 weeks because I felt nervous stopping estrogen and progesterone at the same time. They say the baby doesn't need it though by 12 weeks so it should be fine. BTW the day after I stopped I had massive nausea and sickness (only day I had it through the pregnancy). Could be coincidence but I thought it was maybe related x

I kept going to 12 weeks then stopped.

Thank you very much for your replies.

Did you notice anything different side effects after you stopped? Since I stopped I’ve had small amount of brown spotting for 2 days in a row, could it be a coincidence after I stopped cyclogest or..?

No signs from stopping and my daughter is now 2y old x

I didn't get spotting when I stopped. It does seem like a bit too much of a coincidence to stop cyclogest and get spotting. I doubt it will mean anything serious but maybe check with your midwife?

GingerBrummie · 24/11/2021 11:17

I am stopping at 10 weeks as advised by IVF clinic. It was a fresh cycle, not sure if that makes a difference to a frozen cycle?

K2012 · 24/11/2021 11:42

Hi @Janefx40 I’ve had spotting since week 8 but only once or twice a week but since I stopped cyclogest I’ve had it 2 days in a row. My midwife has known about it since the beginning and said as long as it’s not bright red blood I shouldn’t be worried so not much of help for me. Spoke to GP as well who said the same.

@K2012 if it's been going on for a while and already been checked out then probably nothing to worry about. There's a lot going on in there so spotting isn't unusual but there's no harm checking it out again if you're worried.

As you say though it's not easy to know how to check if the midwife isn't worried and the GP said the same.

Really hope the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly for you. It's hard to relax through pregnancy after IVF x

@Janefx40 Thank you 🙏🏻

I haven’t had a vaginal exam to have it checked GP or midwife never mentioned it as they weren’t concerned 🤷🏻‍♀️

At 11 weeks was meant to stop at 10 but like you was anxious so made them last little longer
My daughter is now 1 your body will produce enough don’t worry it won’t make any difference now x

Cloakedmerry · 26/11/2021 11:46

I also had spotting and at one point red blood with backache it was put down to the cyclones that irritating my cervix it stopped a few days after I stopped taking them x

SerendipitySunshine · 27/11/2021 09:02

I stopped at 12 weeks. I had some spotting at 8 weeks and a bit more at 14 weeks but nothing since so I dont know if it was related to the progesterone or not.
