HELP - Sperm Analysis Results- What do they mean??

Hi All

We are currently under the care of a fertility specialist for recurrent miscarriage. My husbands sperm analysis has just come back saying he is outside the fertile range in two parameters indicating an increased risk in male fertility.

It looks like he's only just outside the fertile range but still, not good!

Does anyone have any similar stories? Is this insurmountable? We really don't want to go down the IVF route

TIA x

Hi it's looks like it's just his average score which is just outside the parameters - a good male preconception vitamin and lifestyle changing like no drinking smoking etc should help if you didn't want to go down the IVF route?

Hey, so these scores aren't that bad. My OH has 37% average DNA frag but we're under a great urologist so fingers crossed it gets better with supplements.

So according to our urologist, you want your average score to be under 30%. The larger the number for the 'low comet score' the better. This means that a large proportion of the sperm have low dna frag. 2% of the sperm are very fragmented! But 2% is a tiny amount. We were told supplements every other day (OH oxidants score was in the minus meaning he was taking too many supplements) and we also took a course of antibiotics to clear a hidden infection that OH had.

Hope this helps
