1bb embryo

I went for my transfer today and was told I had one 2bc & one 1bb. I didn't even know you could get less than a 3. Our embryologist said the 1bb was likely to be a 4bb by tomorrow but they thought it should go back today anyway. Looking up a 4bb it's not too bad. I'm now quite confused!

@CycleGirl20 Is this a day 3 tranfer or day 5?

CycleGirl20 · 15/11/2021 15:49

Day 5

@CycleGirl20 The number is the developmental stage of the blastocyst. So I think a 1 means it's just becoming a blastocyst and should continue to expand inside you through stages 2 to 6. The letters are the quality and Bs are quite good.
I think that embryos just develop at slightly different speeds- a lot of the time if you have a grade 4 or 5 Blastocyst on day 5, they will transfer that and keep an eye on any that are a bit behind- they then freeze those on day 6. But they can't do transfers on day 6 as the endometrium is not thought to be a peak receptiveness then. So they will have transferred the one they thought had the best chance when your 'window ' was open. 🤞for you

Thank you @KatRee! I just had a phone call saying my 2bc from earlier is now a 4bc & a frosty! They thought it was a gonner earlier but it's pulled through. I guess I can assume the one the put back has developed some more too. My transfer was quite early in the day

That's good news- hopefully bb is coming along nicely too!

2mumlife · 16/11/2021 09:13

@CycleGirl20 Sounds like you just had some slightly slow growers / fertilisation might have been a bit later or something. As you say normally you're looking at embryos that are later in the blastocycst stage. Its great your second one was freezeable.

CycleGirl20 · 16/11/2021 09:19

@2mumlife yeah I think so. I also read online that female blastocysts often grow more slowly and I'd love a girl (or a boy for that matter) but that cheered me up that it could also just be slower because it's female. Apparently IVF flavours male babies (although only by a few %). I also hadn't realised that the time from 1bb to 4bb could be about 4 hours.

@CycleGirl20 Best of luck with this embryo!

In case anyone finds this, the 1bb worked. This is late evening on 9dp5dt.

@CycleGirl20 congratulations!! X

tulipsandsnow · 24/11/2021 20:18

@CycleGirl20 yay, congratulations!
I just transferred a 5CB that expanded to a hatched 6CB when thawed just before transfer. Have a 3AC in the freezer (which I haven't seen many of on here, where the inner and outer grading are two apart rather than one...so AC or CAs)
Was that your first test? If not when did you first see a line if I can ask? x

CycleGirl20 · 24/11/2021 20:24

@tulipsandsnow thanks. I waited until 9dp5dt but a few people on the Oct/Nov thread got BFPs at 7dp.

@CycleGirl20 congratulations!! Amazing lines! I couldn't read and run, this bought me a little hope as my remaining frostie is a 2BA and was a little worried about the grade so given me a little umph that it can totally happen! Wishing you the best happiest & healthy 9months x

Hi

Was your pregnancy successful?

CycleGirl20 · 20/09/2023 05:57

@Megan83 yes it was. She's asleep in her cot. Are you in a similar position?

Oh thats amazing.

Yes, I also had a 1BB but unfortunately I had fluid in my uterus from a previous c section that wasn't closed.

I have a 3BB frozen but waiting for them to fix my uterus

CycleGirl20 · 20/09/2023 12:08

@Megan83 sorry to hear that. I hope you get the operation soon
