I just had my baseline US for my second attempt at IVF. Last time I took decapeptyl and 150iu ovaleap from CD2. I had 3 dominant follicles and 2-3 smaller ones, when I was due for egg collection I still had 3 dominant follicles and the others had died off so the collection was cancelled as the DR said I had a poor response.
I went back again today, CD2, for another baseline scan. I saw a different DR this time. She said I already had 1 dominant follicle and so we couldn't start hormone treatment. She says if I start out with a dominant follicle then the hormones are too late to work. Why would this not have been the case the first time around?
I now have to go back again 1 week after ovulation this month and start decapeptyl then so that it has time to work before my next cycle and hopefully prevent me selecting a dominant follicle before my period starts next month.
Has anyone else heard of this and have any experience?
