Recommendations for Private Fertility Support?

Hi Everyone!

Background: UK resident (Cheshire), 35 years old, TTC for 1 year, no success. Typical cycle: 24 days. Had one blood test done by GP which showed low progesterone.

I've been referred to an NHS fertility clinic, but the waiting lists are too long and I haven't got the time to waste!

I'm going to opt for some private fertility investigations, but I don't know where to start.

Could anyone please recommend a private fertility clinic / hospital? I have looked at Spire Healthcare as they have a hospital nearby, and I looked at CARE fertility which has a clinic within the Countess of Chester by the looks of it.

I have no idea where to start or who to call. I have never had any private treatment before.

Any advice, guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thankyou!

You will need initial investigation first, this is likely to involve day 3 and day 21 (or equivalent) bloods, AMH, an ultrasound scan and a semen analysis. Most clinics charge around £500 for a his and her assessment with a consultation with a specialist to discuss the results.

If there are two clinics near you, you should search what people have said about them in the past. Care is a chain so most people get the same approach, other clinics can be more specialised, but also can be very expensive.

If you decide to go for IVF you may want to consider a finance package, I'm with access fertility. Care has a similar package. It works out cheaper if you end up needing multiple cycles/transfers.

I think the first step is to get the tests sorted so you know what you're dealing with.
