Balanced translocation

Hi all

Talk to me about what balanced translocation means? Just been told I have this for chromosome 13. We had a baby earlier this year at 16 weeks with this. Does it mean I am a carrier of it? I realise I don't have the syndrome. But what does it mean going forward? Head is spinning!

I'm sorry you've had bad news - unfortunately women with a balanced translocation are high risk for miscarriage - most likely you'd never have any visible signs or symptoms of it - usually the only symptom is recurrent miscarriage. You may be eligible for IVF with PGTA on the NHS though

Sorry for late reply. Yes have never had a successful pregnancy. Makes sense now. Dreading what's to come
