Day 3 Blood Results

I was wondering if anyone can help me please as I’m panicking about my day 3 blood results. FSH 9.6, LH 4.5 and estrodial 173 (pmol). What are my chances of natural conception with FSH at 9.6? 😭

Hi, sorry you're feeling anxious. I'm no expert but I don't think those results are too bad? I think FSH less than 10 is generally considered normal. Also from what I understand it can vary significantly from month to month. Your chances of conceiving naturally depends on your age and lots of other factors too.

My FSH has always been 8 or 9 and I've two successful IVF cycles in the past few years (IVF was for male factor infertility so nothing to say I couldn't conceive naturally).

Hope someone else can comment who might be more knowledgeable than me but just wanted to say definitely no reason to panic just based on those results. Good luck!

@Hoping43 what's your age, AMH and AFC? Without this information it's difficult to advise. But there is nothing worrying about the result you have.

A high FSH can indicate a diminished ovarian reserve but yours isn't high.

My results in summer 2020 were:
FSH: 8.4
LH: 6.9

I went through a collection cycle and got 9 blasts, which is a lot more than the average.

I have just had the blood repeated:
FSH 11.8
LH 4.59
Oestradiol 98.8

The FSH is higher, but I've no idea why as my AMH is still normal and my AFC is still very high.

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t got the other numbers… we have a referral to the fertility clinic in Jan. I think I will get the AFC then but not sure they will test AMH. I have two children so not sure we would go down the road of IVF.

Have you had success with yours?

I’m just hoping there’s nothing in my results that would impact natural conception. We’ve been trying around 9 months which is longer than with my other pregnancies (I appreciate I am very lucky in that respect). I turn 35 next week x

Unfortunately I haven't had success, but that's not because of the blood results. I have recurrent implantation failure, our embryos look great but they never implant, so I've never had a positive pregnancy test before. There aren't tests for implantation failure, it only becomes evident when IVF transfers continue to be unsuccessful.

Anyway, your history is reassuring, 9 months is a pretty short time when it comes to trying to conceive, the blood tests look fine and hopefully you will get some reassurance once you see the clinic.

Thank you so much for your kind reply.

What are your next steps? I hope you get there in the end 🤞🏻
