Supplements/getting ready for IVF in January. Any tips?

Hi all. As the title suggests. Fingers crossed we're starting our first IVF cycle in January on the NHS. Any tips to prepare? Im taking Pregnacare supplements daily with vitamin D a few times a week plus methyl folate (liquid). DP is taking Proxeed.

I know I need to massively cut down on booze, I've (finally) knocked the fags on the head.

We eat well, and I exercise 4 days a week (cardio and strength).

Is there anything anyone has found helpful to take in the run up to treatment?

I don't have advice but I'll be starting my first cycle in January too. Good luck!

@Ohgodwotnow Hi! I had a failed ICSI this year. We are doing ICSI because my husband has poor morphology (1%). We had 9 mature eggs from 10 days protocol with 150mg Pergoveris per day and 4 of them fertilised. Unfortunately none sticked.

So we decided to do things differently this time. Dr doesn't think the problem is my egg quality but since I am 35, I want to optimise it.

So both my husband and I are taking Jarrow Ubiquinol Q10 QH Absorb 100mg in the last 3 months. We are also using the Jarrow methyl folate 400 mikro gram. I am taking pre-pregnancy multivitamin also. It includes omega 3, other form of folic acid, all the B vitamins etc. I have mild thyroid issue so I take Zinc and Selenium. My husband takes L-Arginine and Vitamin E. So too much vitamins 😐

I will start my 2nd ICSI round hopefully next week. I will keep you updated about the result. If it is improved, you can also maybe look into the same supplements.
I read some books about how to improve egg and also sperm quality. I think they are worth to read also. E.g. It starts with the egg from Rebecca Fett., Fueling Male Fertility from Lauren Manaker and Making Babies from Sami S. David and Jill Blakeway. The latter is about overall fertility. They also refer to Traditional Chinese Medicine (which I am skeptic about 🤔) but it is a good source to learn about your fertility.
I hope it helps! If I forget to write after my ICSI, please remind me. We should be getting the fertilisation results latest mid-December.

Thank you @Cayandsimit. I've just ordered all those books and will look up the vitamins tomorrow.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your second round! Please let us know how you get on.

We're starting our first cycle in Jan too! I also read It Starts With The Egg and am taking Pregnacare pre conception, methylfolate, ubiquinol, omega 3 and additional vit D.

I've given up the booze and am generally trying to eat well, less processed food and sugar, and consistent exercise. Hoping to lose a little weight too as my BMI is a little over 25.

Good luck!
