Hi,

Myself and my partner have been trying for roughly 18 months now, we have had all the relevant fertility tests and all seem OK to date, no major concerns. I have been told I have PCOS as one of my ovaries looks polycystic but Dr wasn't wasn't concerned about this. I had my HSG yesterday and I don't have blocked tubes. I'm a little lost now and we have am appointment with the consultant at the end of November, but I just wondered if if is in the same boat or has been in the same boat and knows what he/she may suggest we do next? Thanks in advance xx

Hello 👋 I am in a similar boat. Been trying for 2 years, had HyCoSy in September (similar to HSG) tubes were fine but they did count 17 follicles on one ovary and 12 on the other so was told its borderline PCO but didnt seem very concerned about it. We have been added to waiting list this month. They wouldn't add us any earlier as we are unexplained infertility and for NHS it needs to be 2 years, unless they find a cause for infertility. I've been told to expect an appointment in February with treatment starting soon after. For now it's just a waiting game 😔

It's so frustrating isn't it, it's the unknown that gets me 😪 we have an appointment with the consultant at the end of November so hoping for some good news or some direction at least but if we are unexaplined fertility then we will have to wait a few more months, arghh😅
I hope you get your happy ending soon! xx

@Laura2301 hi there lovely lady! Didn't want to read and run, I also got diagnosed with PCOS and was placed on metformin which has been so beneficial for me however we have also MFI, I had my follow up appointment (similar to what you've got in November) after all investigations scans ect and they made a decision that the treatment for me and DH is IVF so they gave us a list of clinics of choice and sent off the referral to them on the NHS and now we are just waiting for this now as the next stage :) hope this helps x

Hi there! If indeed all the tests look good, they might suggest iui or some medication increase your chances. The waiting is going to be exhausting! Give yourself tasks to do, keep busy, and take advantage of this time to prepare for what might come in your road. Research online, listen to fertility podcasts, follow fertility coaches on social... Tricks like these helped me a bit to deal with the waiting (at first, now I just want to get it over with everything). Oops, sorry for the long post, baby dust to you, if you want to chat while waiting I'm here.
