Looking for information about IVI Madrid

Hi everyone,

Hopefully I'm posting this in the area.

I've booked a first consultation with IVI Madrid. There are significant delays with our NHS funding for IVF and so we're considering going abroad, where it's significantly cheaper and success rates are equally as good if not better than the UK.

I've heard good things about the IVI clinics and their Madrid clinic sounds like a good option for us. Does anyone have any experience of IVI Madrid that they could share, good or bad? I'm particularly interested to know the following:

  • How did you find your treatment there?
  • Roughly how long did it take from your first consultation to start your treatment?
  • What was your protocol and what was the rough timeframe for this, including a preparation month before starting stimulation (if you had one)?

Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any replies in advance!

Hi there! From what I hear they are good, they're pretty good! Search for them here they have reviews for all the clinics:

Did you have all your tests ready before you booked?

Thanks very much for sharing this @IsabelHerna That's really helpful! Makes looking for a clinic so much easier.

I've not had all my tests before booking an initial consultation. I've booked a first consultation with IVI Madrid and am looking to do the same with Clinica Tambre, which is also in Madrid. It seems the process with both is to have a first consultation, and then after that we can arrange diagnostic tests (which can either be done in Spain or the UK). We'd then have a second consultation and after that treatment can start.

@Mudra85, I see, it's good that you're going to compare them. Good luck with your appointments! Are you able to do the appointments online or do you have to visit?

Sorry for the delayed response @IsabelHerna Thanks for the luck, I'm hoping it'll be clear which clinic we want to go with after having the consultations. We are having both appointments online and then would most likely have the usual fertility tests here in the UK. There's also the option of flying to Spain and having the consultations there plus tests at the same time.
