Hi all, big rant before I make a complaint and want to make sure I’m not just being reactionary and emotional. Tell me AIBU…
I was supposed to have a hysteroscopy this morning to get a better look at a polyp and possibly remove it before we can start ICSI for male factor infertility. I’ve been waiting since late April for the appointment.
When I got there they asked the usual Covid questions, including have I travelled to europe in the last 10 days - to which the answer was yes. I’m fully vaccinated, been in a green list EU country (with much lower Covid rates than UK) than for work, got back Saturday, sent of my day 2 PCR and did a lateral flow (negative) so I didn’t kill anyone at hospital.
Long story short, they refused treatment due to Covid risk as I’ve been abroad within the last 10 days.
To say I’m frustrated is an understatement, I’ve checked my letters and the NHS trust website and there’s no mention of any foreign travel restrictions on treatment.
Anyone else had anything similar? Should I have know this before I turned up?
Fuck this process man, we’re 18months in with pre-diagnosed MFI and still not a whiff of starting treatment 😭
Rant over!
