For those who took prednisolone during their transfer, did it help you to get that BFP and if so what dosage were you on?

I took it after bfp and was 25mg . Was told to take 10 but immune specialist upped to 25 and said 10 wouldn’t do anything

MabelG · 09/10/2021 10:10

@ohsheglows I took it prior to transfer. I think it was 20mg in the lead up to transfer which was then cut down to 10mg. No known immune issues however had several chemicals and an MC previously. Can't say it was definitely prednisolone that was the one thing that helped (was also on aspirin) but the clinic told me it wouldn't hurt to take it so decided to give it a try on that basis.

@Dreamsupreme ah you took it after your BFP? I've been told to take it from the day of the transfer. I think 25mg is the same as what they're suggesting too. Congrats on your pregnancy by the way Smile

Oh wow, and I'm guessing you got your BFP too? I've also been told to take aspirin as well. I've only got one cycle left so trying to throw everything at it @MabelG

I took 20mg from day before transfer and continued until gradually cutting down around 10 weeks. I got pregnant and stayed pregnant. About to try it again for no 2 ...

MabelG · 10/10/2021 09:35

@ohsheglows yes I had a baby as a result of that cycle (it was an FET). It is a cheap drug too so definitely worth a try! Good luck to you Smile

I am bumping this thread as I have been told to take 10mg from transfer day but I too am worried it’s not enough? Would love to know others’ experiences please.

Loz2467 · 23/08/2023 17:20

@Taslah can I ask what you decided to do? I’ve been told 10mg from cycle day 7 then up to 20mg on transfer day but another dr who specialist in adenomyosis patients said to up to 20mg the day I start progesteone so 5 days prior to transfer?

Taslah · 23/08/2023 21:59

Hi @Loz2467 I’ll be honest, I can’t remember. It turns out I had severe inflammation from endometriosis (and adenomyosis funnily enough) so the transfers didn’t take. Knowing what I know now though I would absolutely take as much as I was allowed as my gynaecologist said it was because of the inflammation (unknown to me at the time) that the transfers didn’t take. So I would listen to the adenomyosis specialist! Good luck 🤞🏻

@Taslah thanks for responding. I’m really sorry the transfers didn’t work. Have you tried any more? I’ve had prostap down regulation for my adenomyosis and my transfer still failed so this time I’ve done more down Reg plus the steroid and blood thinner. I just worry if I take too much of a high dose it can have a negative affect on the implantation.
