Estrogen levels during pregnancy

Hi I’m 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant (ivf pregnancy) but no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever which makes me very nervous. I have a scan booked next week, but I’m nervous that my estrogen levels might have dropped since I don’t have any pregnancy symptoms at all? My GP won’t do a blood test and said it’s normal not to have symptoms. How would I know if my hormone levels have dropped?

Hi @K2012 I’ve seen a couple of your posts now and in the nicest possible way you need to try and relax. All this stress is not good for you.

Speaking from personal experience, having symptoms is no guarantee of a healthy pregnancy. I had a very heightened sense of smell and bouts of nausea and still miscarried.

Having no symptoms is completely normal and in itself nothing to worry about but if you really can’t cope you could book a private scan to put your mind at ease. But please try to enjoy your pregnancy, you won’t get this time back.

Hi @RiverRiot Thank you for your reply. I know I need to relax and not stress but it’s really hard and easier said than done ☹️ I have a scan booked next scan if everything’s alright I will try to relax but at the moment it’s hard.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage ☹️

Hello @K2012 I think I posted on your other thread. I honestly didn't have one symptom until 8 weeks. I know how nerve-wracking a BFP after IVF is but you just need to take things one day at a time. You could book an earlier scan but at this early stage the heartbeat may or may not have started yet which could cause unnecessary anxiety so maybe hang in there until next week when things will be more definite. From what you've said at this stage things sound all very normal Smile

Hi , I would book a scan, you should be able to get a good picture of what’s happening at this stage. You’ll know your dates being ivf. The doctors will be expecting to see certain things by now.
However, the only way I distinguished between a healthy pregnancy and the ones that failed was through hcg draws every two days. Even scans were perfect up til 8 weeks but the hcg wasn’t doubling and those ones failed.
It’s a horrible worrying time and I really feel for you. If the scans or hcg will just make you feel more anxious than avoid them. It helped me understand what direction the pregnancy was taking good or bad and prepare myself.
Big hugs , take one day at a time and try to keep busy

@MabelG Thank you. I will have a scan next week so hopefully will know more🙏🏻

@Dreamsupreme Hi thanks for your reply. My GP has refused to do blood test and said they only do it if they suspect e topic pregnancy.

You could try privately ( google private gp or blood tests) but understand that its costly

K2012 · 08/10/2021 15:01

@Dreamsupreme I just called a clinic today and they said it’s £67 for one Hcg blood test! That’s very expensive and I can’t afford that if I need 2-3 tests to see if hcg is rising.

I’m 7 weeks tomorrow, woke up today with the worst nausea ever and still feel sick now it’s 3pm. I’m so tired had a nap for over an hour and still feel like sleeping. This is the first time I’m having proper nausea since I tested positive
