IVF funding help London!?

Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has experience with changing borough/ location while on the IVF wait list?

We finally had our first fertility appointment yesterday, which went well and the consultant agreed to put us on the wait list for IVF.

However whenever he noticed my GP was not in the same postcode/borough as where we live he said this would be a huge issue as we would not be eligible for funding. (If anyone is curious I have a GP available at my job as I work in a medical setting, and so thought registering there would be easier).

Anyway I think my only option would be to re-register with my husbands GP close to home, ask them for a referral and start the process again? Which is infuriating as it took a year for us to get this far, and we would lose our place in the queue.

Does anyone have experience with anything similar? I always assumed your home address was what mattered when it came to funding and now feel totally stupid Sad It finally felt like we were making some progress and now back to square one.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't have any knowledge. However, I would hit the phones. Explain the problem to them. Beg them to keep your place in the queue whilst you sort GP admin the background. Changing GPs and getting new referral should be easy. Then surely it's at the ivf clinic's discretion? Be very nice and polite and charm them. Whilst being clear as to what you expect and what you believe to be reasonable.

Our NHS IVF clinic were very nice anx reasonable. They wanted to help, not catch us out.
