Letrozole and OPKS???

Hi all,

I've been using OPK's and have always been pretty consistent, flashing smiley for 2/3 days then static peak smiley on CD19. Long cycles but very consistent.

First month on letrozole, I'm on my 5th day of flashing smileys and I'm CD20.

Is it possible that letrozole has caused this? Is it possible letrozole won't let me ovulate? Never had this! 😕

I'm on my first cycle of letrozole and currently on day 11.

It worked!!! I got my BFP on 12DPO. Crazy and still in shock!x

Aww wow congratulations! What day did you end up getting your peak?

CD20! Which isn't unlike me - but I never get so many flashy smileys.

I'm on day 13 now and I finally got an estrogen rise today. Now I'm just waiting for that LH peak! I have a monitoring scan on Monday, (CD15). I'm hoping my follicles have grown since CD11🤞 xx

When do you have your next scan?x how long are your cycles usually? So so hoping you get the result I did. I'm still in shock. Thought it would take loads of goes!

My cycles are usually irregular as I have pcos.
They are scanning me tomorrow so fingers crossed🤞I hope it shows progress.

If you saw my other thread I was concerned about follicle size - I scanned CD11, 15, and 18. They were growing sooo slowly and still by CD18 the big one stopped growing and had stayed at 12mm, the smaller overtook and was only 14mm - nowhere near big enough. I came home and cried and thought that was it for this month, but my follicle decided to grow rapidly in the last 2 days and obviously got big enough.
Keep me posted with what goes on for you, it's important to have support during this and share results for your own sanity. I found it so helpful.
Are you on 5mg x2 a day? Trigger shot or supplements? - I was letrozole only.

I was on letrozole only. 2.5mg once a day for 5 days. I had my scan today CD15 and I have one dominant follicle on my right ovary at 12mm. Is that good? They have told me to keep using my ovulation tests and to tell them when I get my LH surge. I will then go for IUI next day. Though they did say if I don't ovulate in the next 10 days they will cancel this cycle and increase my letrozole to 5mg next time.

Definitely good that you have a dominate follicle that's growing! Mine was 12mm on CD15 too - are you so irregular that you've no idea when you might O? I ovulated CD21.

How come you're having IUI instead of timed intercourse?

Yes, I have PCOS so my cycles can be really irregular. Like 34 - 50 or longer sometimes.
My last cycle was 35 days and I ovulated on day 24 naturally. So this time with medication I'm hoping for the same or slightly earlier. I had a flashing smiley face on my clearblue so I'm hoping my follicle grows quickly and releases xx

8dpiui and cramping? Is it normal?

I didn't have IUI so I couldn't tell you. I cramped all day 9DPO, a bit on 10DPO, and 11DPO the brown blood started.... x

So it could be a positive sign!! Do you usually cramp a few days before AF? I do, so it was hard to tell with me - but I'm guessing 9DPO I implanted x
