Cancelled FET medication advice

Good morning all,

I am doubting myself here. My frozen embryo transfer got cancelled and I was told to start taking progesterone oral tablets for 10 days to complete the cycle and bring on a period.

But I'm not sure whether they told me (Or i didn't hear) whether I should stop taking my oestrogen or whether to continue the oestrogen alongside this progesterone?

Any advice for a panic during the night? I don't want to break my cycle any more than itnalready is broken

Hello, I’ve had a cancelled cycle and never heard of this method before. In my case I stopped the estrogen (hadn’t started on pessaries/progesterone yet) and my period followed around 5 days later. Best to double check with your clinic though.

FYI, finally got hold of consultant.

Estrogen and (now) progesterone to he continued for 9 days then stopped then will bring on a bleed.

(I think it's to mimic a natural cycle, since no ovulation we gotta fake it)

That's interesting, are you going straight into a repeat cycle? When I've done mock FET cycles for biopsies I'm told to stop the drugs straight away to bring on a bleed, have a cycle off and then we do treatment the following cycle.

Unfortunately this is the second FET i have had cancelled. Last time I think I stopped the cycle the same way (using progesterone tablets) but that was back in March and honestly I can't remember yesterday let alone back in March Confused

I need to have a hysteroscope next cycle. Hmm

@spinkupromise I don't see the point in continuing the medications then, I would rather stop them and get on with the hysteroscopy.

I'm really sorry the cycles were cancelled, what was the reason?

The point is just to mimic a normal cycle so as not to throw the body off too much.

Last time it was cancelled because there was a lot of fluid in my uterus

This time it was cancelled because I have a growing polyp (so they think)

@spinkupromise it shouldn't throw your body out that much but it's only a couple of weeks so I guess timewise won't make much difference carrying on.

Ah that makes sense, the hysteroscopy will be a good idea, I hope you get some answers from it. Have you got to wait long for it?
