Hey, did anyone have time off work after embryo transfer? And if so, how long? X

Hi my clinic recommended me to take it easy the next 3-4 days after embryo transfer and not go to work.

I'd say it depends what you do, how physically demanding it is, how stressful it is etc. I think the time after transfer is for doing whatever you feel good about. But I'd be interested to know if anyone else's clinic suggested as @k2012's did. Mine said I should carry on as normal.

I'm a secondary school teacher so have only had the day off for my five transfers. Last one I went to work in the morning then arrived all stressed (after traffic and an annoying work email) and my bp was so high the transfer was nearly cancelled, so I'm not doing that again! If I had a job where I could book extra leave I would take at least a couple of days off. I think it is a very personal thing, some people want to keep busy, others chill out. My clinic say it's fine to go to work the next day.

Hey do u take blood pressure meds? Just asking if it affects the fertility meds
seven201 · 30/09/2021 18:17

Hi @Sweet211 yes I do take bp meds. I'm on labetalol as it's what's recommended while ttc and pregnant. I took it while ttc and pregnant with my daughter 6 years ago too - didn't need fertility treatment with her. My ivf clinic say to continue with the labetalol.

So no, I don't think it does affect fertility meds.
