I’m in a deep depression because of my poor quality embryos. Will have both transferred in November. Just really in a rut and I just need some encouragement. My dads also been diagnosed with dementia. I’m just in such a low place at the moment.

I'm sorry you're feeling and facing such a difficult time. I had a follow up consultation following a failed ivf cycle yesterday and the consultant told us that he considered anything that makes it to blastocyst to have a good chance and not to worry about grading. I've seen quite a few stories of people having children that started out as 3BCs and I hope that's you one day. Are these embryos from your first cycle, or have you done more?

I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad- life is so cruel sometimes. My brother was diagnosed with cancer just as we had been told we would probably need ivf and I just felt like I was being repeatedly punched in the face.

Know that you are strong, that it's ok to feel your and that you will get through this

Hi, so sorry to hear you are having a hard time and about your dads diagnosis. If it is of any help/ encouragement we transferred a 3BB and 5CA embryo and now have 4 month old twins. I was also very down on our chances, but it turns out we had a better success rate with our ‘lower quality’ embryos. Wishing you success for your November transfer. X

I’m so sorry you’re having a rough time and for your dad’s diagnosis that must be a lot to deal with.

I just wanted to say that I honestly don’t think your embryos are poor. My clinic class a BB as ‘good’ regardless of expansion so your 3BC must also be in with a fair shot!

I understand how you feel though, when I went in for my transfer of the three embryos that were ready two were a 3BB & 3AB. Because of the ‘3’ I thought they must be crap but the embryologist assured me they were good. I’ve also found out the hard way that a great looking embryo doesn’t necessarily equal baby after my 5AB resulted in a miscarriage. I’m now hoping that one of those ‘3s’ that I was briefly worried about would like to stick around.

Remember grading is essentially a beauty pageant but anything good enough to freeze is good enough to make a baby.

I have everything crossed for you and your little embies. 🤞🏼

how was the transfer ? all good?

Zest11 · 28/05/2023 16:27

For reassurance my 3/4bb resulted in my son. I have had a 4aa, 4ab transferred and nothing alongside others that have failed/miscarried.
