Annoying extra costs

Doing a FET privately which costs 2k. Fine.
Have to have a scan first to make sure everything is okay, £135. Fair enough.
£57 for a chlamydia test I didn't ask for and don't need. Annoying.

I know it's tiny compared to total costs, and some people spend many, many thousands, but does anyone else get annoyed by some of the additional extras that seem wasteful of your money?

Sounds very frustrating. Don't forget they can't spend your money for you, it's your choice. If you don't feel you need Chlamydia testing then don't have it done. Your body, your money, your choice 🙂

Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🙂

Annoying isn't it, always feels like there is something to pay for ! We've used access fertility so have unlimited fets but still have to pay for drugs which is fair enough.
I didn't realise you didn't have to have the chlamydia screening ?

I honestly didn't know if you have to have it or not. But I know I couldn't possibly have chlamydia so it's just an annoying cost to pay really.

They sort of surprised me with it and I didn't even think about it until I got the invoice! It's still so alien paying for health care. Thank you for the kind wishes. All the best to you too Smile

I think the chlamydia is an HFEA requirement so you might find that you need to get the test done.
