Good evening everyone

Please shed some light on what you can do/eat/take to prevent a miscarriage?

I’ve heard about progesterone and aspirin, when do you start aspirin how much do you take and for how long? Any experience with aspirin or other things? Please advice

Hi @G1984 I don't think anyone can advise you without some background. Have you had miscarriages in the past, if so what were the circumstances and have you had further investigations?

Agreed, it's difficult to advise without knowing your background. I have PCOS and probable Endo so have stayed on the Myo -Inositol and NAC which I took pre-pregnancy too (for fertility reasons), since I read they should do no harm and could potentially help women with my issues : sites.google.com/site/miscarriageresearch/home

But I only added aspirin after the midwife prescribed it recently at my 12 week scan - I was worried it could cause problems so wouldn't take it without medical advice. Equally I had wanted to stay on the IVF progesterone pessaries for reassurance till I got to 12 weeks, but they need to be prescribed by your doctor - and they will usually only allow it if you've had miscarriages before.

If you are having an ivf cycle you usually get support in the form of extra progesterone, they can also recommend blood thinners like aspirin or clexane (I think the aspirin dose is 150mg). Some people are put on steroids, intralipids but this is all quite specialised and depends on what you have been tested for

You should really get the standard blood tests looking at things like blood clotting, thyroid levels etc that will give your doctor more specifics ideas on what might be helpful for you.
