Infertility at 40, no IVF, other options?

Hi everyone, in desperate need of advice.
My husband (44) and I (40) have been trying to conceive for 1 year now. My husband's sperm was checked, tests came back normal. I had the progesterone tests, it looked like I ovulated in that cycle.
We were referred to the Infertility clinic but can take up to two months to hear back.

What are my options? I don't even know. I have a child so I know I will not be offered IVF through NHS in my area. Is there anything else except from IVF that could be offered to us, even if it's privately? I don't think we can manage the costs of IVF.

My cycles are regular. I had 3 long cycles the last year with the opks detecting lh surges at two different times, which I don't understand and gp ignored. I have also hypothyroidism but my medication is working fine.

Anyone been in my place? Any advice please? Thank you!

They may suggest clomid or letrozole with timed intercourse or perhaps a medicated IUI if you're cycles are long and irregular. You'll likely need more bloods taken to get a complete picture of what's happening.
