Cleaxane and Asprin for recurrent miscarriage

Hi Everyone, I had my fourth FET last week following one failed cycle and 2 MMCs at around 8/9 weeks. Because of the recurrent miscarriage I have been put on Clexane daily up to 8 weeks, prednisolone to 12 weeks and prontogest to 9 weeks and cyclogest pessaries too. I've read and been told so much about Asprin and recurrent miscarriage I wanted to ask if anyone's taken baby Asprin as well as Clexane? If so when did you start the Asprin? How long were you on Clexane for? My prescription runs out at 8 weeks but all the threads I read seem to have women taking it all pregnancy and for a time after too. My clinic will extend my prescription if I ask I'm sure I just want to be fully prepared should we get a positive test. Any help would be so amazing, thanks you!

Hi I can help, I rattle with meds!
I took 25mg prednisone up to 15 weeks ( tried to stop around 13 but had strong withdrawal symptoms) I took 6 cyglogest daily and prontogest and started weaning of those slowly at about 9 weeks.
I took baby aspirin from ovulation ( 75mg)
I took 40mg clexane and will be on that until 31 weeks
I was also on a host of other things for immunes - intralipids , ivig , LIT
It’s all got me much further then before ( 4 mcs) and now I’m second trimester. Wishing you the same 💐

Also three of my mcs were mmc at 8/9 weeks like you. It’s so awful, big hugs

Sorry always think of more to say!
I took the aspirin and cyclogest from ovulation. The pred and all the rest a few days after bfp I started those

I have recurrent losses and my plan includes aspirin pre-conception. For my ivf cycle, I also had clexane added in (been told that although both are blood thinners, they do different things). My fresh ivf cycle ended in a chemical pregnancy, so for my FET in October, I'm on aspirin now and then I'll start clexane at the beginning of my cycle when I start progynova (no down regulation). I'll also be on prednisolone, hydroxychloroquine, intralipids, cyclogest and lubion.

I've heard that clexane can help with implantation. I don't have any diagnosed clotting issues but do have overactive nk cells.

Good luck 🤞

Thank you all so much for your messages. My consultant has said we could add Asprin if I get a bfp but tempted to start now after what you've all said. It's such a minefield isn't it but great to hear positive outcomes xx

I am so sorry for your loss. I do not know what to say and how to help, but I wish you all the best!

I had four miscarriages before this pregnancy and I took Clexane daily up until 16 weeks then switched to low dose aspirin which I'll be on until 36 weeks. 8 weeks seems a little short to me but I'm no Doctor!

Lullabywish · 01/09/2021 14:59

@loulamay it seems way to short for me too. Is this the first pregnancy you've been on Clexane? Hope all continues to go well for you x

@Lullabywish it's actually my second on Clexane, I miscarried my previous pregnancy at 6 weeks. We did a D&C though and it was found that the embryo was abnormal so that little babe wasn't destined to stick around in any case. We actually took a few months break and decided to pay for our remaining embryos to be PGS tested because I didn't think I could face another miscarriage. I'm now carrying the first healthy embryo that we did the FET for in Jan of this year. xxx

Lullabywish · 01/09/2021 15:17

@loulamay sorry to hear that about your last pregnancy. Miscarriage is so heartbreaking isn't it, the fear of being pregnant again and then the possibility of miscarriage scares me so much I can't bare it.
We have also thought about having our embryos tested. We have had two embryos put back this time in the hope it gives us a much better chance. X

@Lullabywish I wouldn't wish it on anybody. Getting pregnant is hard enough once you reach the IVF stage, to then have it taken away further down the line creates such a predisposition for anxiety for any following pregnancies that it's a wonder any of us are still sane!

Lullabywish · 01/09/2021 15:33

@loulamay the sanity left a long time ago I think. Confused

I am about to do my 3rd round of IVF. 2 back to back miscarriages in 2021 and have just had a battery of tests - all fine which is super frustrating!! still no real answer as to why the losses... my question is this - should I be taking baby Asprin ?? My clinician said she had no opposition to this but would leave it to me. When should I take it?

They have got me on pro biotics, pre conception vitamin and then ill have to start on the progynova and progesterone in April.

I have had no issues re: implanting, I just can't seem to get past 7 weeks. They are giving me Progesterone injections this time rather than crinone so yay for the no cramping and sludge!

Help!! please :)
