Low number of follicles

In the midst of my first cycle. Had a scan on Friday and there are a low number of very small follicles. I’ve had my menopur increased and have another scan tomorrow.

Just looking for advice really. Is there anything I can do to help things?

Sorry to hear that. Which day of stims did you have the scan as there might still be time to increase size. What level of menopur were you on?

Wonder if it's worth asking if your response reflects your AMH.

Thanks for replying. My AMH is apparently fine.

Scan was on day 7 and menopur has been increased from 300 to 450. Day 10 scan tomorrow.

I don’t think there’s anything else you can do at this stage, but the increase in stims should help. The first round is often a bit of a trial and error process to get the dosage right, as it’s unknown how you’ll respond. Hope day 10 is better for you, I’ve heard plenty of ladies do respond better after the increase mid cycle.

Never realised (naively) how emotionally draining this would all be.

I had a similar experience with an unexpectedly poor response to menopur stims. From a good AFC and AMH, I only ended up with 6 eggs. Only one made it to day 5. But... that one is still going strong into the second trimester so far...

Don't give up hope yet, there's still time for those follicles to grow.

AMH was only 5.6 and AFC 9
At one point only one was a decent size ! It was touch and go. I was I'm on 450 from the start but at day 10 I was advised to stim for longer and my EC you e had 9 eggs which was amazing considering I nearly had the cycle cancelled
They sometimes take a while to catch up
The bigger dose will def help
I ended up with OHSS
