Hi - is anyone taking DHEA? I've been on it for 2 weeks and it's causing such horrendous bloating/stomach upset as soon as I eat anything...even the smallest thing like a few blueberries...! Is this the same for everyone/anyone else?

I haven't taken it personally but friends I know who did had awful side effects - sweating hair loss etc.....there is a reason why it's not licensed In the U.K....did you have your testosterone levels checked before taking them?

I'm not sure...I'm on a new protocol as my second round of embryo banking was aborted due to poor response. The DHEA is part of the new drug regime... I was having bloods taken every 2 days while I was stimming in the aborted cycle so not sure if that was tested in the blood samples they took from me... but yeah, it's pretty grim. The bloat and middle weight gain is not proportionate with my food intake at all.

You shouldn’t take it unless your testosterone and dheas have been tested. I took it and it messed up my cycle and through my progesterone sky high. I didn’t need and my body was converting it into other hormones. Please call your clinic and check what tests ( if any ) they did. It can cause more harm then good otherwise

Agree with @Littlemissnc it can actually do more harm than good if you take it without medical need - I'd check with your clinic on what basis they have given it to you x

Ok I will. Thank you x

Taking it on advice of my consultant, GP is aware. 3 weeks in and all seems ok stomach wise. I'm 43 and happy to try anything that might help.
