Retinols etc during ivf

Does anyone know what is and isn't okay to continue using during a fet?
I use retinol, hyaluronic acid and vitamin c serums daily. I gave them up last time for my fet and really noticed the difference in my skin, although I don't think the buserelin helped either !
Any advice would be great

Retinol is teratogenic, definitely don't take it.

Most people suggest using topicals during IVF the way you would if you were actually pregnant - as far as I know Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C are absolutely fine but Retinol is a no no (the major risk is taking it in supplements but most people suggest avoiding it in skincare too to be on the safe side).

From what I've read they often suggest replacing the retinol with niacinamide or if you need exfoliating acids then lower strength glycolic or lactic (but not at the same time as your vitamin c).

Was wondering about this also. I know retinol is a big no for pregnancy but if you are doing IVF with freeze all is there any reason I should no longer be using it? Better safe than sorry i guess..

I will use retinol up until a few days before frozen embryo transfer and then stop. As previous poster said -best safe than sorry-although how much difference it would really make I don’t know?!

I might stick with the vitamin c and hyularonic acid and skip the retinol just to be on the safe side ! I was so good last time, didn't even have gels etc but it still failed !
