Has anyone missed a dose of Progynova?

I had a frozen transfer 7 days ago with a 5 day blast.

I'm on 2mg progynova 3 times per day. Today I went out and forgot to take it with me (along with my progesterone pessaries). I came home but was 2 hours late in taking them. I took them as soon as I got in.

However, I've just been to the toilet and I have bled a bit. Has this happened to any of you before?
I'm worried now I could have messed things up.

Hi -sorry to hear you had a little bleeding. I am no expert but I don’t think it would be related to taking the progynova a bit late. I def take mine at slightly different times each day and during my pregnancy with my son would often forget and take one late and it didn’t cause any problems.

Speak to your clinic -they might suggest more progesterone if you are bleeding a little. Best of luck.

Thank you @mouse1234567
I am going to call them tomorrow and see what they say. I'm bleeding quite a bit more now so it might not be a good sign.

Oh dear -I’m so sorry-that must be a real shock. It’s such a tough journey. I hope the clinic can help.

I'm sorry to hear you're having bleeding - I'd suggest calling your clinic, or even NHS24 if the bleeding gets heavier. If it helps, my clinic said so long as the right number of doses were being taken, some variation in timings shouldn't be an issue. There were a couple of times when I was a couple of hours later than my 'target' time, and the clinic wasn't concerned about that at all.

@Scirocco
I'm wondering if it could be because I was late taking the medication (as it says online that this can cause a breakthrough bleed) or if it could possibly because I inserted the pessary to far. I used the applicator and was rushing because I was a bit panicked and remember it hurting a little as I pressed the little button to insert it. I may have aggravated the cervix. I'm going to ring the clinic when they're open to see what they say.

Update:

I called the clinic today.
They said they're not worried, and that it wouldn't make a difference taking the meds later.
She thinks it could be due to me using the applicator for the pessary and I maybe inserted it too far. She said they're not worried as this can be quite common as the applicators can irritate the cervix.
So hopefully all is ok.

Thank you all for your replies.

I had literally the exact same experience last January. It was awful, and I ended up bleeding for a few days and was convinced I'd caused a miscarriage. They also reckoned it was that I had irritated my cervix, and I'm now 38 weeks! Hope it works out for you too.

Op how is it going now? Hope the bleeding has stopped?

AlrightyThen3500 · 19/08/2021 07:47

Thank you for comments. The update is - I found out 3 days after the bleed that I was pregnant after some blood tests at the clinic. However I think the bleeding was the beginning of the loss as I had a follow up blood tests 2 days after my first which indicated my HCG levels were dropping. The levels were low to begin with which is why it looks like the bleed was the start of the loss. Sadly it wasn't a good outcome in this case. Hopefully we'll have better luck next tune. Thank you for your replies.
